Yooooo… that came out slick. I have a piece similar I found a while back. Now I want to give it a shot cabbing it.

Almost looks like some burro creek material. Remember, you also have the "cracked" option to work with as well if you dont have material that has a whole through it. I feel like that purple sagenite I sent you a while back had a hole in it. The sagenite did have a hole but didn't go all the way through. Working on a couple other ones,

Let me put an entry in please. This *might be a place holder but more than likely will be my entry. This is "B" grade purple passion laguna bought from the gem shop in Cedarburg WI. It is a double sided cab and although its hard to see, the hole travels toward the edge and at least a pinhole got through making it an actual hole. I especially like this one due to the combo of sphereulites, agate, plumes, and purple. Wish me luck, if the other piece I'm thinking of doing turns out amazing maybe I'll pull this entry in favor of the other...of thats allowed!

This month's theme is kicking my cab. I'm finally posting my entry for this month, a Mexican crazy lace with a nice crack going right across the middle. This is actually my first attempt this month, but It didn't turn out the way I thought it would. I tried a nice piece of crysocola because I thought there'd be plenty of fractures. It turned out there were no cracks at all and it wouldn't have met the criteria, and the point broke off during the final smoothing. Then I tried a chevron amethyst heart and it definitely fit the billing, but I couldn't for the life of me get the scratches out of it. Best of luck to all the fine entries. Mexican crazy lace preform: Preform on dop: Front side finished: Side view: Thanks for taking a look.

realrockhound - let's make a pact never to let me pick a theme again. I really messed with people too hard on this one!

Okay, teaser or entry, time will tell?!? This polkadot doesn't have a through hole, I like the piece too much to attempt to grind the back till it opens up, besides it has a healed crack shown between the arrows in the 2nd slab pic, so that qualifies me, right? If I have the time before end of the month I plan to set up my expando with 14k and 50k belts, give it a better polish than the 3k it has now, and get better pics. If so I'll just edit them into this post rather than a new one to make more work for Tommy . Nice one! Unique shape that worked perfect

victor1941 that’s a beauty. As just an FYI. You can click on the edit tab and delete the photo yourself. Dunno if you’re aware of that or not? It’s the lil icon to the right of the like button.

Realrockhound, I did what you suggested when I removed the needle peak cab. I simply had left it up as a visual but have now removed it.
