victor1941 - That Pet wood is really beautiful material - I think that cab is gorgeous! chris1956 - That turned out great as well - I think you picked the perfect part of the slab to cab for a really eye catching piece (especially when backlit)

I’d like to see the cabs that would’ve come outta that. I foresee lots of coprolite. |

Soo many great entries! I'd tag everyone to say great job but there are so many.

Thank you everyone for another amazing contest. I can't wait to gather the photos and create the voting collage etc. Actually I CAN wait because I have to wait  I'm working from dark to very very dark tomorrow and Saturday looks like more of the same. Please feel free to use the extra day(s?) to dial in your photos and if anyone has a placeholder set get busy and get some finished photos uploaded. |

Well this is certainly an interesting one. Tonight. I waited until the last minute as I've been busy. Cut several preforms last night. Got home from class this afternoon and expected to go to work and we have no power. I finally set up a generator outside so I could get a light and my cab machine going. Couldn't do one much with picture so I just stuck it in a box and turned my flashlight on above it. This isn't even the cab that I wanted to use, but I didn't want to open up my freezer to get the other ones off the dop sticks. It's a chunk of River. Jasper.    I'm glad you managed to get this one done. Nice river jasper. |

realrockhound - let's make a pact never to let me pick a theme again. I really messed with people too hard on this one! not at all realrockhound and tribeunited. What is hard is working with difficult material. You make the best of it. I love the theme. |

 WOW on those last minute entries - this month is going to be super hard - AGAIN!!!!! There are a lot of super strong entries!!! I always want to comment on the pieces - but I missed the first few and now I feel bad for singling people out - especially when there are so many good ones. So I'm holding myself back here a lot by just saying WOW, but yeah, rockbrain - that river jasper is amazing. Such a cool material and done so well! rocknrose - Cracks and holes! Double whammy! You also made it beautiful!

I got lucky number 13 too.
I did get back to the cab and did some minor improvements, but no time to get pics so it is what it is...
I also have some alternatives in the pipeline I was considering before the dog had an Idiopathic Vestibular Episode, aka doggie stroke, perhaps I'll do a recent cab thread soon, been spending more time there lately.
At any rate I have to agree the competition is fierce, holy moley, every thing it's cracked up to be...
