I think the real solution is very very simple...just vote Bush and his Oil Buddies out of office in three years so we can get a real energy policy that actually helps out the people, not the oil people! csroc

yesterday gas prices were $1.15 a liter (which is VERY high... a month ago I was paying 86 cents), and today it jumped to $1.35... must be Thursday, gas prices are always higher on Thursdays.

As much as I hate to agree I have to- Oil Companies post something like a 4 BILLION dollar profit last year- But -unfortunatly- it goes much deeper- They are just the end providers for our National Consumerism! I own 2 V-8's and a 4 cylinder- I'm as guilty as the next guy- I have a gas pwered riding lawnmower that doubles as a snow blower- a gas powered chainsaw- a gas powered weed eater- a gas powered leaf blower- a gas powered generator- well you get the picture!

Tweetie, Besides Winnipeg, Quebec has the cheapest gas across the country. Alberta, where Gas & Oil comes from, is #2 in the highest. I think I read their gas cost something like $1.68. BC is the highest of them all.

I just came home from my son's in St. Paul. Got gas down there for $2.999 and when I got back up home saw prices of $3.199 ... makes me want to puke (in Bush's lap). I drive people crazy but even though the speed limit is 70, I lock my cruise on 65, went from 19.8 to 29.9 mpg doing that.
KD .. I started with a Yamaha 750 but it was a bit too tall for me too. Traded it in on a Honda CB 900 ... totally awesome cruising bike.

Ok, I gassed up this morning at $2.98/gal. When I went by 3 hours later the station was closed. Out of gas. I got a real bad feeling about this. csroc- I'm not trying to dampen your plan, but do you think we'll make it three more years OR be able to repair the damage if we do? Ok-sorry to be negative about this, I just don't feel good about it. Joe

We are paying 3.09.9 just glad we don't have to drive to work any more! Although we were hoping to do alot of traveling after we retired, At those prices guess we'll have to stay at home and buy more rocks. That's not all badI guess! Feel bad for those who are still having to drive forty or fifty miles each day.

just vote Bush and his Oil Buddies out of office in three years
We can't stand another three years of Bush! He and his neocons and oil buddies have put us in a perilous position with his war in Iraq for control of their oil based on lies and deception. He has sent Americans to die so he and his cronies can put more money in their pockets.
This situation in NO wouldn't be so devastating and desperate if the son of a ***** would have not reallocated millions of dollars from the Corp of Engineers that was marked for much needed work on the levee to the war in Iraq. There wouldn't be thousands of people stranded in NO for FOUR days if the La national guard and choppers were at home where they belong. The people in La, Miss and Alabama wouldn't be in such dire straights if the guard units had been at home where they could have immediately been mobilized to deal with the situation. The National Guard was NEVER intended to be used as cannon fodder in some war on the other side of the world. Guard units are suppose to be home and mobilized to protect the citizens of their state.
Cookie said she didn't want to get political but now is the time to get political. This litte tyrant in the White House needs to answer for the treason he has committed against the American people - from his lies and deceptions about 911, his war in Iraq, his sending billions of our dollars to Israel in order to pay the Gaza settlers $250,000 each for relocation, for diverting funds intended for repair of the levee to the war on Iraq and knowingly putting Americans in danger of exactly what happened. He and his cronies need to be impeached, tried for treason, then sent from the White House to the Big House. Actually, the punishment for treason is death.
And, that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what this dispicable little man has done. How nice, for him, the Katrina paid us a visit and caused so much destruction that everybody's attention has been diverted from the investigation and rumored pending indictments against Bush, Cheney and a few others in the outing of Valarie Plame. That will be buried so deep now that it will never come to light until after Lord only knows how many more Americans will die either in Iraq, from natural disasters or a terrorist attack.
The whole bumch of them deserve the firing squad.
And how worthless is the Homeland Security! They are doing such a great job in NO - hell, they can't even control the looters and get people food and water. They can't find their own butts with both hands. Makes me feel so warm and fuzzy to know I have these people to protect me.
People have a tendency to wake up when they get hit in the pocketbook and we are going to get hit hard, so I am praying Americans will stand up and start demanding some answers for his nefarious acts.

Ours is up over $3.00 a gallon now too. Wonder how long it will be before only the rich oil people can afford to send their kids to school (in limos) while the rest of us working class people become serfs and peons.

$3.39 here yesterday. Makes me want to be a home body even more than I am. I think I use more gas on the lawn mower than my truck, darn lawn, darn gas hog of a lawn mower!

I hope everyone who votes in the next electin will remember the people in office now who did nothing but sit on their hands and let gas get out of hand. If the goverment would get some backbond they could put a cap on gas prices but they won't because the oil companies give them way too much money to do exactly what they are doing now.....I say it's time to clean house...and senate too...and whitehouse..all the way down the line..

You're right Pho! It's just too bad our votes don't count for enough to make that happen. This country is run by the rich so unless you can buy your way in, you just don't matter.

Tweetie, in my area it's $1.30 Today, but one gas station was selling at $1.26 on Friday. You should have seen the line ups!!! It's not worth waiting in line for 1/2++ a day just to get $1.26 a liter, In my opinion anyway. Of course I am saying this with a full gas tank (I was one of the first ones to fill up at $1.26 ) In Montreal it's $1.49 (some areas have reported $1.55). It's nice living just off the island.

For the last few years GULF has been about a dime cheaper than the other Majors in my area(Massachusetts). I wondered if maybe they actually got most of their oil from the GULF of Mexico (not Arabia), and were giving us a little break. Like perhaps they were thinking, Our profits are way to high and we'll give the consumer a little break...Since the latest GULF has become the most expensive in my area so I'm still wondering if they source mainly from the Gulf of Mexico.
Gas prices really fluctuated this past weekendI only use regular and the lowest is around 3.09/gallon(usually SHELL) , most of the others are 3.29-3.39/gallon. I have seen some cases of regular for 3.69 and 3.79 /gallon...On the tube Premium gas went over 4.00 in some places...
The current price of home heating oil is 2.69/gallon in my area

Who do you think own or are heavily invested in most of the countries oil wells? Can you say Bush and Cheney and who is best friends with the Saudi's who produce nothing but oil? once again can you say Bush! Their going to drain every penny that they can while still in office, got nothing to lose not like their going to be reelected, OR will they? Heard of any bills to revoke the two terms law? That's really scary!!!
