LOL Yeah, that's pretty big. You could crop off a whole lot of blue there. If you have a graphics program that you can resize with 500 (pixels) is a good size for pics in the posts.
That's a cool pic, pretty good catching him on the fly like that.

That is so beautiful. We do have bald eagles up here and it's a big treat eveyrtime I see one. Sometimes my neighbor and I go out riding on backroads looking for them (not as much as we used to with gas so high), last summer we were going down this dirt road and saw a bunch of turkey vultures hopping around the ditch. Sure enough a few feet away was a bald eagle in a tree. I was able to stop the car about 30 feet away and we watched him for a long time. They are so gorgeous! Here's a picture that my niece took down at my cousin's place when he had a raptor shoot going. I just love this picture. My cousin has a place where photographer's from all over the world come to "shoot" with their cameras. Every year he has a raptor shoot where people from the University's Raptor Dept. bring many different birds for photography.

It's December 29 and I would have thought that the Deer rut was over by now, but when I went out to cut some cane stock, I came accross this scrape that was still very active. Ron

Just had these four Goldfinches show up at my thistle feeder. They lose most of their color during the winter, but they are still quite striking. Ron

We have that problem in the summer here Stefan, there's a sharp-shinned hawk that thinks our backyard is his personal restaurant. All the raptors fly south in the winter though so we don't have to worry about it then. Well, what can I say? I get hungry.... ;D

Hey Cher, I didn't have any until those four showed up. They were here for a couple of days, and then they started bringing their friends. Now I have them all over and they fight over the four perches on the feeder. The poor Chickadees have been here all along, and they are having an awful time. They are used to jumping on and off quickly so everyone gets a turn. The Goldfinches get on, and stay on.

I looked out my window to see my garden has been invaded! They go for the bird seed and any plant remains. The herd consists of seven of them.

Hey Joe, I always love to see the deer! Those are some very good photos by the way. Only question is, Where's the snow? Ron

Ha ha ha ha ha I was wondering the same thing, where's the snow? I love your bird feeder set up, that's so neat. And I mean neat, I hate the way the seeds fill up the ground underneath the feeders.

Here's the snow! It just took a day to get here. Well Cher, I still have to hose off a lot of seed shells but it's better than when they landed on the grass.

Do you always just hose it or do you scoop some of it out? I'd toss it by the trees back there, let it grow for the deer (you know those birds always leave some get by them).

Hey Ron, when the critters looked right at me and I shot the pics they all show "red eye". Except the red eye on this camera seems to be green. If you can shed white light on this subject I'd appreciate it. Any tips to eliminate the green eye? I very rarely used a flash with my 35mm but the digital always wants to fire the flash. I don't know what to do about it. Is the flash causing the problem? Thanx for any help on this, Joe

Cher I just hose it into the garden and till it under in the spring and fall. There is an irrigation ditch back by the trees and the ditch company clears the banks in the spring so I don't know how well it would do.
