I am a project manager and designer for a large landscape company. We do landscape jobs in the range of $1000 to $100,000. We do a lot with natural stone. Benches, walls, flagstone, stone fountains, ponds and much more. We do colored and stamped concrete. After work I sell stone in my E Bay store. This pond is in a small townhome backyard.

I'm a trained professional project manager, in other words I know how to babysit groups of people, keep them on schedule and take notes. Currently I'm on contract to a computer company as their "trouble" person for marketing content that is fed through data systems to their websites and catalogs. If somethings not right it lands in my lap. It never ceases to amaze me how large corporations get to be large with the lack of communication that goes on.
I've also worked in the electrical wholesale industry as a gear and lighting quotations person and in oil and gas engineering as a purchasing manager. Every 10-15 years I seem to like to try something new.
I've loved rocks since my childhood in Alaska where rocks were plentiful and interesting but have only gotten into them big time in the last couple of years.

I am a proud 24/7 child-care executive, housekeeper, cook, nurse and general maintenance worker. In other words.....Stay at home mom. I know there is some fancy title for this, but I don't mind "stay-at-home mom" since it took a lot of sweat and tears to get here.
Cher......rooting for your firing also! I'll put a good word in with the BIG MAN above for ya!!
Stoner...I have a question for your expertise...did you ever make night tables that were actually shelves, but had a drawer under it? I hate my night tables next to my bed and would love to fashion a shelf with a drawer underneath. Any ideas about that??

I'm like Ed, I stay at home and send my wife off to work too! Retired after 26 years at the local PD here, hence, I am now "offbeat". I do a few odd jobs here and there, a bit of cross county truck driving, mostly take care of the house and chase the kids around. I still have two at home, 16 year old daughter, 14 year old son. Man, I didn't know how much work it was to run a home!! Working the streets was easier.
Waiting for the party when Cher gets fired!!! Bill

I am a Honeydewer. Right now we are doing some major remodel work on our house, whatever Honey wants I dew. After this I may get back into local trucking, who knows. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

I recently finished course work in gemology and became a registered gemologist. I will be taking a course in jewelry appraisal this summer, and I am working on finishing my associates degree in business management / international trade. I work for a company that engineers networks for medical facilities. I am administrative assistant to the Operations Manager and a testing administrator. I administer microsoft (and other) certification tests. I'm at work 30 hours a week, but only have about 5 hours a week worth of work to do, so this leaves me a lot of time at work to do school work, and play on the internet, not to mention our "conference room B" contains a shuffleboard table, fooseball table, poker table, dart board, fully stocked bar, and a kegerator. (We do a lot of "work" in conference room B!) This also allows me to drive my daughter to and from an out of district school. She will be able to drive herself in a year, so I will probably look for something in the gem / jewelry industry. Although, I don't think there is much of an industry around here other than retail.

I'm now a specialty surface restoration technician. Is that like a floor man who lays carpet and linoleum or maybe resurfaces wooden floors? Thanks, only have 4 more days till I find out if I'm officially fired or not.

I am a Science teacher at a middle school. Been teaching kids going on twenty years now. The first half of my teacher career I was a Special Education teacher. I taught handicapped children ranging in ages six to fourteen. Since my certification is generic, it means that I am certified to teach any and all handicapping conditions. I worked with kiddos who had autism, Down syndrome, hearing impaired, behavior disorders, mental retardation, and other health impaired. All in the same class. I absolutely loved it, but the beaurocracy involved in Special Education made me move on to my minor which is in Science. I have chosen to remain in the teaching field as opposed to becoming an administrator because I really like teaching kids (most of the time), and I can take days off when I like, plus the holidays throughout the year, and summer allows me and my family time to travel. This is something we do a lot of. As a principal, I would never be able to do this. In fact, I met Gaetzchamp in another camping website before coming on to this one here.

Yes, in fact, it's YOUR fault that I'm addicted to this site.....LOL. You seem like a pretty patient man to have to teach Special Ed. A big bravo to you!!!

Hi, I am an I.T. Manager for a swimming pool company in the UK. I love carpentry/woodworking. Made a Long Case clock, kitchen cabinet doors and bedroom wardrobe out of reclaimed oak and pine. Much better to recycle, it has more character. Haven't been into rock tumbling for long but find this site very informative. Keep up the good work guys. Gordon
