Sieg, I've learned tons from your questions. When I first joined, I just went through posts, I have found a ton of posts wehre you asked the exact same questions I would've been asked. Don't let one person's post stop you. How the heck are we going to learn if we don't ask. Some people may refer us to a post where it's been answered and we missed it while looking, but thats fine, its an answer and something more we've learned!
As for what you do with your rocks........I bought some amethyst rough a long time ago, I love amethyst, prior to getting into jewelry, never owned a diamond (still don't) and never had anything amethyst. Now I have made some amethyst, but with beads already made. This box of amethyst rough is still sitting in the box as I'm afraid to do anything with it, yet if someone on here had the same box, I'd be excited as hell if they said they were going to break it up and put it into a tumbler, I'd be dying to see the pics.
To each his own is what makes the world so dang interesting!

I know I'm kind of weird but I like the natural shapes of rocks. The first time I saw "wild" garnets I thought they were the neatest things. They look like D&D dice with the numbers rubbed off. That's so cool. I saw a strand of amethyst briolettes once that basically were still in their natural crystal point shapes only cleaned up a bit so they wouldn't snag on clothes. They were awesome but at $150 they were just a little bit out of my price range. Sometimes when a stone breaks on it's cleavage it leaves an interesting shape. That's also cool. When you saw a stone it can be really nice but sometimes you lose something too. You have to decide for yourself whether you want a natural shape or a flat shape for the stone you are working with. That's part of the art of rock polishing. It involves not only vision but also making choices. Some would say waste isn't natural but is it? Maybe nature is just better at recycling it's stone waste than we are. That's where the minerals in dirt come from and dirt is a very good thing. We just make dirt at a faster than normal rate.
Sieg, I hope you don't stop posting. You're one of the more helpful people on the board. Don't let someone drive you away. Yes, I recently left a forum but that was because all the helpful people were leaving because they were driven away by bullies. When there's nothing but bullies left it stops being fun and is just annoying and there is no reason to log in anymore. If someone is bothering you send them my way. They can rant and rave and make a fool of themselves all they want. They aren't bothering me.

Personally, that's one thing I won't whack is a chicken. They are for eating only after someone else does the dirty work. ;D

No, no. After the chicken is introduced and you know their name you might as well give up. No way I'm eating "Rufus" or "Bob." If it has a name it's off limits. I don't do the killing and cleaning either. Generic unknown chicken at the store I have no problem with.

And why is Lori naming chickens Rufus and Bob? Wouldn't Emma and Claribelle be more appropriate. :-)

Okay now this is funny - Um roosters don't lay eggs! Hope you didn,t buy them for that purpose.... hehe OOPS was someone supposed to catch this, I read that post & answered, didn't realize it was intentional (gee I'm not blonde today!)
