Wiz, you don't have a Harley. I have seen this picture and I think the motor is from an old Harley. At least it has a springer front on it. Thanks KD, for thinkin about us.

Because Harley is American made, because resale value is better, and nothing can make the sound of an American design V-twin, not even a jap V-twin, you could go to to Sturgis and not feel outta place, and lastly, you would look cooler on a Harley... I doubt you could buy three of what you got, two, maybe...

I didn't bash anything thats not a Harley. And I don't have an attitude either. In his post "Got the new bike" I will quote what I wrote,
Where did I do any bashing?
I don't know where you are from, but here in Wisconsin and every other state I have been in people notice a Harley. When Takila and I were out east on the beltway going around Washington D.C. we had allot of people in cars pull up next to us and wave, give us the thumbs up. That was also when there was a jap bike a head of us and we didn't see those same people wave at the rice burner!
A Harley made in the last 10 years with stock pipes does meet the EPA standards! and with a 96 CI motor, neither one of your bikes can match the power of a Harley. My Harley has the 1450CI motor, stock, thats not with the stage 1 kit I have now. which still beats the pants outta your 1300CI bike. I can pull a frigging tree stump outta the ground with my bagger! I don't know where you get your info on Harley not meeting EPA crap or not having the power of other bikes on the market. Show me some links on your stats. Show me a link where Porsche is going to design the next Harley motor. Yamaha won't even put the specs of their bikes on their website. Harley does make a good bike, they don't leak since the old AMF days. The only thing I have had to fix on my Harley since it was new was put a new clutch in it, and that was from me doing burn- outs in the driveway. Harley has NOT killed themselves, stock is way up on the Harley company. There is even a waiting list in some areas to get a new Harley. Oh yeah, by the way our leather jackets and my chaps were made in the USA, . Even though Honda is making bikes in America you still give your money to a jap. company. That is why I would never ride a ricer again, specially a new one. Everyone has copied the V-twin, Harley was the one that came out with it and everyone wanted to jump on the bandwagon because they were a good design of power. The Harley is a very reliable bike and I think you should do a little more research before you make statements about power and EPA stuff and Harley's. Again, I did not bash his bike or anything that isn't a Harley! I like both of your bikes, I just wouldn't choose to buy one.
I just feel, like the old saying goes, "Riding a rice burner is like bangin a fat chick, it feels good until someone sees you doing it"

I didn't bash, I just wouldn't buy a ricer. I like the way the V-star looks. Just wouldn't buy one. I also like the way the Kawi looks, just wouldn't buy one. I'm sorry I let you down, but I don't think I have an attitude. I don't understand where you get that from, in Whiz's post I told the guy I liked it and even PM'ed him a link for some LED lights. I didn't have any attitude. I could say you have an attitude against Harley, but I don't. You like, the other bikes, the quiet ones. You go ahead and give your American earned dollars to a Japan based company. If you like the way it rides and your happy with the way you look on it then by all means buy it. I didn't mean to ruffle any feathers by my first post. The picture is of a wooden frame with an old Harley motor in it. Thats all I meant when I responded to whiz.

i agree with you earthdog. just from the other side of the coin. i would not spend all that money on a bike when i can get the same joy of riding for less money. this is my third bike in 21 years all rice cookers. for me it is about riding and nothing else "what kind of bike make no difference to me".
and thank you for sending me that link on the LEDs. i have a couple bids in on ebay for some chrome parts also
i bought a dodge pickup " to buy American" but the sticker on the door says assembled in Canada. so you never can tell where you money is going. i think my wife's Lincoln Continental is the same.

With me Ron, it is about the better bike. I think Harley is a better bike. Also with me it's about giving my American earned dollars to a Japan based company. As long as I have a choice, the choice will be on an American based company. You two boneheads come out here with your Yamaha and Kawasaki bikes and I will ride right along side of both of you and be smiling the whole time we are riding in the wind. Ron the first round of beers will be on you! ;D

I love you guys.. Great debate and even though we all got pissy, were all friends in the end. Here is a poem that I think every biker feels,
"She slides between my legs"
Oh! She is beautiful in everyway She slides quietly between my legs We are a perfect match Together we reach new highs She takes me places I have never been before She never complains about the weather She knows I may be gone into some bar But I will return too her She will wait knowing no other will take me For she is mine and I am forever hers Years we have been together now and I have learnt her little ways I know now how too turn her on and get her warm Too feel her throbbing bucking beneath me And her voice as I turn back the throttle Her roars of delight as together we ride as one There may have been many who rode behind But only I have the right too hold her She is My will My life My breath MY BIKE

It's called brand loyalty..................there are Ford guys and there are Chevy guys. Some women prefer Gucci while others prefer Louis Vuitton. Some moms prefer Huggies over Pampers. I like chocolate but my daughter likes vanilla. So what! If I can buy an American or an American-based company product, I will. That's my preference. I realize, though, in the real world, it's not like it used to be. The American products are not so American anymore.
There is a mystique about a Harley. There's nothing like a Harley. It has it's own sound. It is part of modern American history. Most of the people I know that own a Harley have wanted one since they were a kid.
Seems to me a lot of people have forgotten about WWII and who bombed us! There are so many now that say we'll never forget 9/11/01..............I believe many felt the same about Pearl Harbor back in the 1940's. Yet, here we are 60 years later buying Japanese products. Hmmmm...........I wonder if in 60 years our children and grandchildren will be buying products from Iraq and bragging that they can buy 3 Iraq motorcycles for the price of one American made motorcycle! Makes you think...............................
