Well I had two broken stones in two days. Why do they wait 'till you have so much into them before they break? Who knows? They were meant to be cabochons but they became cabo-gones. So show me your heartbreakers! Put them all in this thread. Then when the next one breaks I'll know where to go for solace! Lookin' good! Grab, whack, oops: Well, you get the idea!

Awww, that's just sad, I'm sorry for both (all) of you who have done so much work and had that happen. What a bummer!!

knock on wood, i have not had any break on me, I have lost some edges before and put a crease down the top of one once because I was trying to do many things at once. So sorry about the break, but you can do what I do with failed knapping points - into the tumbler.

No, no, no... This thread is not meant to be depressed about the ones that got away! It is meant to be a place to celebrate our screwups! Our Cabogones. (Thanx for the name, Herm. ) I just need to laugh about them rather than be upset. So show us your lost cause and take solace in the company.

I know you have seen this before- And I have had a lot of comments about how nice it looks after- but it was still kinda heart breaking - as it was at the polish belt

Augh! I lost another one tonight on the 1200 grit belt. This time it was morgan hill jasper. I didn't see it coming, it just sorts seperated in two. I am going to make two babies from it though. Steve

I had some swirlstone do that while dopped- I noticed a crack after the 600 belt- I wiggled it a bit and half stayed on the dop- the other half came off in my hand (still not sure where it ended up- I tossed (ok threw very aggresivily) across the room)

This is my first cab out of serpentinite that I found during my field work last year. I was waiting a long time to try to cut it and I was very pleased with how it is processing. Until prepolishing. I was to blame. I had to rush to pick up the kids and... Front side Rear side Be patient one, not like me. Zotika
