Rally, that fracture looks pretty clean, no hope in gluing it back together? How about dopping it back together?

Might be worth a try, but the brownish red material in that seam is pretty unstable anyway, I'd expect glue would let go eventually too, but I may just give it a shot and see

Jeez! I have so many cabogones it's ridiculous. That's how most of my freeform cabs begin *L*. Here's three cab-o -saves on the dops for their final prepolish and polish. The Poppy jasper cab in the middle started as a 30x40 and broke. The Horse Canyon Plume on the left and the Marfa, Texas Bouquet Plume on the right started way bigger and between cracking along the edges and cutting into giant pits which are very common in both these agates, I wound up with very thin and oddball shaped freeforms. I wet these to show the patterns better...mel

I broke a piece of Travertine I was finishing yesterday. Why does it always make such a loud SMACK when your stone gets thrown to the back of the grinder?

Another Travertine bit the bottom of the grinder. I gotta find some hard rubber and cut a pad for the bottom of my grinder!
