Hi all,
Im going to be heading back to Richardon Ranch for t-eggs sometime in May or June next year.
Why dont we start planning a weekend trip? Im not sure how many of us are from Oregon but Im sure we could get something going. They have a camping area available. We could also just go for an all-day trip if necessary but thats a lot of area to cover in just one day. A weekend would be fun. In addition to t-eggs I would like to try for some jasper and opal eggs this time as well.
Heck, it would take a whole day just to go through the rough in the yard. ;D
Anyone interested?

Dont worry Tony, I will send you some eggs. I was thinking we could do like the Burro Creek trip and pack up flat raters for those that want them. Currently they are $.75 a pound. You guys could just paypal me the amount for however many pounds you want and I will ship them to you.

I might be able to go. My sister lives near Portland and I am planning on seeing her in June or July. My kids get out of school in the later part of June; I could talk with my wife to see if that would be a good time for her.

Shannon...I will go for sure! for me, alot will depend on our business. Knowing my luck, I'll only be able to go for the day but I'll know more as time goes on.

Shannon, You might want to plan the trip over the 4th of July when the Madras show is going on. They have a lot of great stuff and many dealers. Its only a few miles from Richardson's Ranch. They often have a number of places to dig in the area. I'm going to try to make it to the show but I'm not sure just yet. I'm retiring on June 28th but I'm not sure if I will be moved by then. Its been about 3 years since I have been to the show. Bob

I'm definitely interested! I took my kids there last year in July and no one else was there it was so hot!!!! We were totally worn out after a few hours of digging. Now that I know a little more about the area I'm itching to go back.

Thats why I was thinking June. It gets so miserably hot in July and August. I believe my daughter and I went in early June of last year. The weather was very pleasant and not too hot at all.

Camping at the Ranch looked like it would be pretty bleak. Ok for RV's but not exactly nirvana for tenters. Seems like it's an open, fairly rocky field with a sanalet (sp) and lots of cow chips! Still, with enough friends who cares?
I'm in no matter what!

Yes, camping is pretty primitive.......which I dont mind myself but some might. We could check into hotels in Madras too.
