How many bikers are on this here site then? You can count me. I don't have a custom, a harley or a tourer. Mines classed over here in England as a sports/tourer. I like the comfort for long runs and the speed when I'm in the need I go to about 12 bike rallys a year, having a good old piss up, then back to boring work after a kidney killing weekend

I ride, not a cruiser or custom and I'm not particularly fond of the word 'biker' but no other word really works either . Grew up with dirt bikes, started street riding in college. Currently have a BMW R1200GS and a Suzuki DRZ400S. Wife rides too, that is how we met (actually road racing, both on rare hondas - that's what attracted me ); she has a BMW R1100S and a Suzuki DRZ400S. Sometimes it's difficult deciding whether to go for a ride or a collecting trip - both hobbies require soooooo much time.

I don't think I can get most of the rocks I collect into a saddle bag. I have this horrible habit: if it is so big I can BARELY pick it up then maybe it is BARELY big enuf to bring home . I've got several 80# pieces of pet wood; a 110# or so piece of septarian nodule from Utah, etc just waitin for the big saw to get cuttin.

1983 Suzuki GS1100E sitting in my carport in need of some work, hasn't been on the road in 8 years, but it's on my list of "things to do" once I get more cash coming in. The gas savings will pay for the little work it needs in no time. I'll hose it down and take a pic in the next couple days.

We did have an older Sporty Traded it on a new Super Glide (still kicking ourselves in the ass for not keeping the Sportster. It was a dandy on the twisties). And a couple of months ago we got a used Road King for the long hauls. And my project bike........a 1965 Harley/Aermacchi 250 Sprint Shannon

Well I don't have a Harley, but I love my old Virago. Weeshan, I love your Superglide! If I spent on one, that's the model I'd most likely get. I ride from April til November, and only leave it home if it's raining hard when I open the garage door. My bike's in the garage in pieces right now, I had some jacka$$ turn left in front of me back in november. I ripped his rear bumper off just for spite, and got a broken wrist (surgery and stainless steel plate w/ 8 screws), some rash and a few scars from the deal. Best of all he had no insurance and no license... Oh well, gotta look on the bright side. I'm still here to enjoy some rocks. Here's my bike with my ugly mug last summer.

My husband had an early 80's Virago prior to his first Harley (the Sportster). Glad to hear you are doing ok since the accident...........your story sounds familiar about the uninsured driver. With only 1000 miles on the Sportster, my husband was t-boned by an uninsured motorist in 1988. He shattered his hip, compound fracture in his lower leg, heel pad tore off and nerve damage that is still present today (he wears a brace). They pieced him back together and fixed his bike, which he rode until trading it in for the Dyna in 2005. His mangled hip finally gave out and he had it replaced a few years ago. Ive always liked Viragos. Shannon
