Really cool Tom! I think you nailed each scene with the correct title. It must be fun being retired. Steve

Those should be framed and placed in an art gallery. That eagle and the last pic are just breathtaking. Thank you for sharing these.

Hi gang, I've been asked by a few folks if it's OK to copy and print some of these photos. Knock yourselves out!!! These photo's all came about because of laziness on my part! I was trying to take back lit photo's of the slabs and my batters in my light were shot. I was too lazy to go and get new ones so I shot the photo's anyway!! That's where the "reds and purples" came from,,,,, Yes sir,,,,takes a lickin and keeps on tickin!! Heres another one some of you haven't seen.I shot this one a long time ago but this one was done on purpose !! LOL I thin someone here mentioned putting these photos in a museum. The only thing I have that should be put in there is Me!!! Hey Bobby,,,,that snot nosed kid Holmes is just jealous of you and me cuz he has eons to go before retirement!!! By the time he's old enough to retire they'll have green grass growin on the golf courses on Mars!!! connrock

Hey, pretty unique and creative. I'm impressed. Now we need to know--how do you get to be retired?! Rob a bank? Knock over Granny for an inheritance? Turn you parents in for some rich ones? Steal your brother's Trust Fund? Win the Lottery? They are advocating nowadays to work until you are 70--at least. Work will kill most of us by then..... Nona

KD, Thanks, Aint it amazing how we can stumble onto something? Dead batteries did it! Who'd ah thunk it? LOL Steve, I had to wait now it's your turn in line!!! Na na na na na naaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! LOL Kev,strock,,, Thanks slydog, I can't speak for others but my retirement plans were made in almost an instant! I had been telling my wife that I HAD to get out of that hell hole for a few years and she kept telling me "It won't be long Hon". I know she wanted me out of there almost as much as I wanted to get out but that one darn thing kept coming up all the time...Money!! Where would we get the money for my weekly pay and another biggy, health insurance. The physical part of the job was way beyond my ability and the boss and a ROTTEN VP were after me constantly to either keep up or get out.I went to work smelling like a Ben-gay salesman every day and psychologically I was a BIG mess up to and including becoming Postal...literally!!!!! It's a very long story but I talked the VP and my boss to lay me off with full benefits in March and told them I would retire in August. They went for it and I came home and told my wife what I had done!!!!!! I guess it was because she knew that this day was inevitable at some point that she wasn't really shocked. There was NO turning back so we sat down and did some math with fair to poor results. We found that if she kept working and could talk her boss (a doctor) to pay for our health insurance we could squeak by but NOT live as we were accustomed to. Well things worked out for us as the doc agreed to help us out until I turn 65 which will be this May. We don't live as we did before and don't do some of the things we did but I am retired and not a greeter at Walmart,,,,,yet anyway! Our retirement dreams are gone down the drain as we had planned all our lives to travel around the country and just enjoy it and ourselves. This and the fact that my wife has to keep on working DESTROY me every single day as I feel selfish and that I am cheating her out of her retirement. I pay for my retirement with a deeply saddened heart every day for this and no matter what she tells me or my kids tell me I will ALWAYS feel like I have failed her. Not having money is one thing but living as I do with this burden of guilt and failure is MUCH worse! PLEASE don't get me wrong. We are NOT poverty stricken but we had to give up a LOT of what we were accustomed to and worked all our lives to have and keep. I knew all of the above for a LONG time and it was eating away at me every day to think of what I HAD to do. Well I did it and now "I" have to pay the price for it. No rich parents, brothers or sisters. No financial "portfolio" or even a 401 K !! Just a sad heart and the feel of guilt! By the way,,,this is what I got from the company for 42 years slavery (note the expiration date) I retired in August! Oh yeah,,,,they also give me a big $639.00/month pension too!!!!!!! connrock

Boy connrock, that's a hard thing to deal with, but you gotta get off that guilt trip cause it doesn't take you anywhere. I know, took the trip myself for other reasons and the scenery is lousy.
This is going to sound course but I don't care, when next you are on the "throne" use that paper coupon where it will best serve you and be done with it.

They would make neat screen savers on my work computer!
You must be thankful that you and wife are together and healthy. We women are used to doing all the work, so as long as you are whipping up some dinner and making her beautiful cabs, she probably understands. Heck I wouldn't mind coming home to a dinner on the table, and a clean house, I am a single mom, so I get to do it all alone, that sucks. Don't live with guilt because that will ruin your health, just take care of one another, you guys are partners, so when one is down the other pitches in, and hopefully soon you will both be home together. Lori, I took you advise and used the cupon while on the throne.
I did have a problem though.
You said it would be "course" but I found it smooth and VERY slipery!!
Amber, I didn't think of a screen saver.
That would be real cool!
Thanks,,,, connrock
