I'm with you Shannon! ;D If I was particpating in this contest..I'd be on the low-end of the totum pole. It looks like a 6 way tie...so it might be a tight finish. I do believe Tony, Fran, Amber still have a good chance. Don't Give Up now!!! ;D ;D ;D Thanks Kate for making the board so fun and lively! Steve

You're right, Tonja! This is our strategy, isn't it? To let the others think they're better than us and thus get them soft ;D

Don't worry - I know enough about Lady B's contests to know that these stats won't necessarily stay that way!

Woo Hoo! ... I said WOOOO HOOOO! ;D ;D Oh Yeah! We're partying now hey! ;D This has been a blast - sort of a brain blast! It's great to see who's in the game, and to be able to cheer you guys! Man alive! How are you solving them then folks?! I've never done these Sudoki thingamy jiggies before, so I've had to find my way a bit, but I reckon I must be missing a trick! I write out the "missing" letters along side the row so that I can see the more obvious linkages, but should I be working each empty "cell" in a fixed order? Or do I use a more zen - stare at it until it jumps out at me - kind of approach? Right now I'm opting for a random, scanning of missing spaces and comparing it to the row, col and 9, but the side and bottom lists have helped me out quite a lot. Ticking off the possible letters in each row and column means I can see the patterns more easily. Good Luck to everyone, I hope your having as much fun as I am, and I'm anxious to hear your techniques for cracking these fiendish griddy things! ;D Thanks Lady Bea, your Contests are exceedingly good! Cheers, Sparkles.

Harry, I do a combination. I first scan the rows and columns to see what letters can automatically be placed first. Then I actually put the available letters for that row/column/grouping in the cell itself. Things just work from there. (I only do it this way because that's how MSNBC's daily soduko works for possible numbers. )

I admit I am a complete idiot with this stuff. It would have taken me 2 days to figure out the first one even with the clues! Thanks for the encouragement Steve, hahahaha. I wish everybody luck, I can't handle this!!! Amber

Can I just add a couple "a" to the start of my name so I can be on top?
What a great competition, and FUN too... almost SYFUN that is!
Looks like we're going to need a perfect score to be in for the grand prize.
Good luck everyone and great job so far.
Thanks again Lady B

Looks like we're going to need a perfect score to be in for the grand prize. Good luck everyone and great job so far. Thanks again Lady B Steve Ah...the problems associated with having a late in the alphabet name!!! How about if I post the next set of scores in the order in which the solvers send me their solutions? That should be a toss-up between Ronda and Steve - which is likely to get your name much nearer the top of the Leader Board. As for a "perfect score"...the remaining puzzles just might do some separating of the wheat from the wheat-free!! ;D I think #4 and #5 will probably be viewed as a tad more difficult. And as I stated elsewhere - #6 is a Far-Distant-Galaxy-Star Challenger Puzzle!!!! Only the truly dedicated Sudokuists will stick with that one! I'm so glad I am bringing so much joy to so many people during these cold winter days!!! Wait 'til you see what I have planned for my next Contest!!! ;D LB

Ah...the problems associated with having a late in the alphabet name!!! See, I got used to being toward the end with my real name. I had "A" envy throughout school.
