I look forward to seeing them. Here are a few that I took. I'm not done yet cause I can't make up my mind about some things. girdle for the body and wires to support and decorate the wings: body is in all nice and snug checking to see how the wings will fit separated the wires. Some will be for support and some just for decoration. Now the real fun begins and at this stage I wasn't exactly sure how I wanted to work the wire so I was just bending and twisting and winging it. lol I also changed my mind several times on which side of the wings I wanted to use. I think that is a big advantage for these b flys, you can use either side.

I know in my mind what I want to do, now I just need to work up the courage to grab the wire! I'm also using copper on mine, as my wings have this great native copper (at least, I'm assuming it's copper!) running through them. It's hard to notice, but it's really hard to notice with silver! (Not to mention that green body will look terrific with copper accenting it...)

Just grab that wire and get to it. Don't forget to take some pics along the way. I was looking at the gold stuff in that Butterfly with my loupe. I was thinking it was gold ;D

I only sketch when I have something complicated. My wraps are pretty simple, otherwise!
Question - when it's finished, do we take a picture of it before sending it, or do we just send it on?

I was thinking about that the other day. Why don't we all hang on to them until everyone is done wrapping but also take a pic. I have some Ideas rolling around but I have to wait until they stop rolling so I can make some sense of it. lol.

I wasn't thinking, I never took any progress pics. I have so much junk that I'm trying to get caught up on that I didn't think about taking pics, but it's finished and packaged, I'll get it back in the mail Mon or Tues.

Thanks! This one was a challenge for sure, I know where all of the flaws are but I still surprised myself.

Randy, that is so freaking elegant and absolutely gorgeous. I did kind of the same thing with the wires extending from bottom tips of the wings. I swear I did not copy your design but seeing yours gave me that twilight zone feeling. lol.

Randy, it is not yet complete as I have to secure the swirlies at the tip of the wings and I still haven't decided if I want to make it a pendant or keep and modify the legs a little so it can be a table top decoration. here are the pics: side view so you can see the legs, the eyes and the probiscus (I think that is what a butterflies tongue is called) Sorry for the fuzzy second pic. See what I meant about the bottom wings and wire? lol.

Okay, if we're showing final pics... I need to re-wrap the bail, as my X went cock-eyed at the last wrap. It's not quite how I had planned it, but it'll work, I think.

Boy, what talent on this board. Lori, I like the antennae and probiscus addition. Ronda, the copper goes GREAT with the stones. And the bail is large enough for antennae. Ken
