It will be core drilled with a 7 inch drill. This will make the balls about 6-5/8 inches. I am going to try to get in progress pictures. Please excuse my ignorence, but what is a Bolo?

That reminds me of a big Sunset (?) jasper boulder I saw in someone's side yard a while ago. Had to stop for a pic:

That Sunset Jasper looks loke it would make a nice ball also. Is that a sword stuck in it? I seem to remember an old story about a sword stuck in a stone. Ya all will have to wait a month or so for the trimmings. I will post pictures then.

*L* Been there and done that! Sometimes those chisels get stuck beyond removal. Guess that one way of solving the problem. Just bring the whole giant boulder home *L*
Man, that kaleidoscope jasper is friggin wicked awesome huge and beautiful. Can't wait to see the sphere progress...Mel

*L* Daniel, I hate to quibble here but the Texas or Western bow tie is the old four in hands/ string tie. Not really string tie like a bola which is, I think, a rather modern Arizona development (1940's) Texas bow tie is kind like a regular formal bow tie out of cloth but with long droopy tails hanging down. They sometimes call them string ties which leads to confusion with bolas but they're not actually string but just skinny cut fabric. This style tie is much older. I wouldn't know except I used to have one of them fancy Texas style western get ups.....Mel

I would be interested in anything left that would be good for tumble mix. Just let me know whenever you're finished what you have left and that you think can fit into a flat rate box. I'll start putting my money aside now for it! Good luck on the spheres, I'd love to see pictures of the progress along the way of making them!

I'd love to see the progress pix too. I'd like someday to make spheres, so it would be of great benefit to watch. I'd also be interested in some scrap if it's not all spoken for. I'm more than willing to pay shipping.
Thanks!
Nate

I can see I am going to have figure out a fair way to distribute the leftovers. As I mentioned before, all I want to do is cover my cost for shipping them. I have a couple spheres made a year and have been looking for a way to make the scrap available to those who appreciate the stuff. Maybe this is the answer. I will definately post pictures of these balls in process and when they are completed along with pictures of the trimmings. Also as I mentioned before it will be a month or so before that happens.....Thanks all
