;D ;D ;D [glow=red,2,300]The Winner's[/glow] ;D ;D ;D Well, judging is done and both categories came down to ties and rejudging. I'm glad we'll have two people's choice awards, because this was really close. I'll open People's Choice sometime later today. The voting post will be at the beginning of this thread. Novice/Beginners Winner: Spiderweb Obsidian by Bejewelme (Amber) There were ties between this entry and two others. We felt this one had the better polish and labeling. Advanced Winner: Carnelian Pumpkin by MossyRockhound (Garry) There were several ties with perfect scores in this category, but we felt the difficulty level of Garry's Pumpkin put it into the winner's circle. Congratulations Amber and Garry!!!! Please select which material you'd like your prize cut from out of the list below and post on this thread. Thanks to everyone for participating. This was a great contest. Ok Here's my entry. I haven't been able to do a cab in a long while, but I have pictures of the ones I did a little while back. Is that allowed or does it have to be one I do right now?

OK, here's my entry! I made a cab which I named... but let me firstly show you the pictures and then you will better understand the name ;D It's a cab made from an Antelope Jasper slab, from Oregon (I got it from StoneAgeIndustries). As you see, it has a weird shape. The dimensions are: 49 mm width and 31 mm height. I named this cab [glow=red,2,300] DRACULA'S DENTURE[/glow] Don't you think it looks like? Just look at the pic below. It even works! ;D The shine in the first two pics is not due to the fact I held it into my mouth. I swear I cleaned and dried it after that! I would eat a pound of garlic if I lie! ;D As you see, my cab has a symmetry plan and besides I built my cabbing machine a bit less than two years ago, so I would qualify for the beginners/novice section. But I would be honored if Dan would accept my cab to be in the advanced/master section. Thank you for looking, Adrian

lol Adrian that cracked me the bleep up. Poor Ioana, she was so young but alas now she is gone, a victim of Dracula's Dentures. Is Antelope jasper from Transylvania?

Ok Here's my entry. I haven't been able to do a cab in a long while, but I have pictures of the ones I did a little while back. Is that allowed or does it have to be one I do right now? It can be a cab you cut anytime, no rules on when it was cut.

Advanced/Masters- I'm gonna call this one "lost soul". It's from a 15 pound chunk of Fancy Jasper from Brazil that I received from Ebay seller Astro Gallery a while back. When I saw the ghostly image in the slab, I knew that I had to cab it! Jo "naturenut" saw it in person yesterday and said that I should definitely enter it, so here it is! ......

Thanks everyone who've posted entries so far, these are really nice cabs. The only feedback I have is to remember a label and try to show off the workmanship. If you haven't already, please post which category you're in.

Halloween Cab Competition Bejewelme/Amber--Beginner Category Material: Spider Web Obsidian, Mexico Here is a cabochon of spider web obsidian, which was recently discovered in Chihuahua, Mexico. A small amount of material was mined before it played out, therefore obtaining more of this unusual material is getting more difficult. It features plenty of sky blue/green spider webbing contrasting against a soft black background. The ornate webbed pattern is quite striking, and really does resemble a spider's web. The cab has a nice dome of 4+mm,and is 1 1/2" high x 1" wide, a rounded egg shape, and is polished to a slick glassy shine. Happy Creepy Halloween! Thanks Dan for a fun and challenging contest! Amber

Here's mine...I'll put it in the advanced class... "Witch On Her Broomstick" It's Wiggins Fork Opalized Wood streaked with some agate. The material was collected north of Dubois, Wyoming. The cab measures 38 x 20 mm, with a 6.5mm peak dome. If you look at the dark spot on the upper right, it looks like a witch riding her broomstick...and it's got a set of "eyes" when it's backlit

I almost missed this competition! Nice looking cabs everyone. I have one more pic to add to this, but for now, here are pics of the face and from an angle laying flat. There are a lot of weird and spooky looking things going on in this cab(some of which may just be from having flashbacks again! ) Here's my entry in the master category, a Morrisonite jasper. Thanks for the contest. Please don't pay attention to the smaller pic, I guess when one adds a pic from the desktop it actually shows up, and I don't know how to get rid of it!
