Curt - Gotcha on the list now (guess all that *DING*ing in my ears induced a brain fart.)
Sean - You've got us started on the second century - #101.

THAT'S IT, I'VE HAD IT WITH ALL OF YOU WORKFORCE OWNERS BRAGGING ABOUT HOW GOOD THESE THINGS ARE, PARADING AROUND HERE POSTING PICS OF ALL THOSE FANCY ROCKS YOU'RE CUTTING![/B] ...And you know what i'm going to do about it?[/b] I'm going to march myself down to Home Depot right now and buy one! ;D I got to see one of these babies in action today at my worksite and after talking to the owner, he convinced me it's worth it. And besides, i'm just plain sick of not being able to cut any of the slabs and preform projects I want to do and they're really starting to pile up. I'm going to justify putting it on my credit because it's the only way i'm going to have any of these projects done in time for Christmas and I want to build up some stock for a Sunday flea market booth at the speedway come springtime. I have to work on Friday but I guarrantee if it's not pouring out, I'll be doing a lot of cutting this weekend. Any advice that long time Workforce owners want to instil upon me now would be greatly appreciated. This will be the single greatest investment I have made so far in my lapidary hobby so I want to do it right.

Congrats Rob! You're going to love it...especially after the patience you've shown waiting to purchase it.

Yeah, Congrats! Congrats! Once for attaining that revered status of " Inter Galactic Rockhound" and once for finally getting your very own powerful Light Saber, otherwise known as a Work Force Saw. [glow=red,2,300]May the Force be with you!!! ;D ;D ;D[/glow] Lady B

Woooohooooo! Hooray for you!
When I first got mine, it had to sit in the box until the weekend, too! One good piece of advice I read on this board (can't remember who, sorry, maybe John/BuiltonRock?) was to draw a line extending out from the blade, on the upper plate, so you can see where the saw blade will cut. Also draw parallel lines 1/4 inch on either side, for slab cutting (1/4 inch sounded thin to me, but I'm still a bit nervous with my saw). I only did the center/blade line, and it has helped. It's wearing off after one session of cutting, but it's still helping! ;D
Here's some advice I got from the Moe zarkite man (BuiltonRock): "Take a brick and if it cuts the brick pretty easy you have not hurt the blade. Main thing is to go slow and if you see sparks back off, keep a good grip on the rock and try not to get the blade in a bind." He sent me that tip this week, I had a rough time with a piece of crazy lace and was afraid my blade was messed up.
Of course, keep in mind I've only used mine 3 times! ;D ;D
LadyB - love your post. May the FORCE be with you, ha!

Hey, just a note, you all might want to read my post here in general, about changing that dad-gummed WF saw blade, and take a few preventitive measures. Wish I woulda known what I know now, now know, LOL.

I'm having a trouble slabbing agate with my new WF. Just kidding. I'm totally stoked with The Force. Please add me as a padawan ;D I never would have known I had this much capability for anywhere near this affordable price if it weren't for LadyBeaBea and the rest of you helpful folk. Thanks!

Hey Padawan (just looked it up, not into Star Wars) - you're only a rookie for about five minutes on that puppy. Hope you remembered . . . "As tradition a padawan of any species with hair grows a long strand of braided hair that is finally cut off during the ceremony of WorkForcehood." ;D ;D Gotcha down for Starship # 104. Rich

I've been abusing my WF for months now. I couldn't begin to count how many thousands of slabs it's cut, still using the original blade. It's paid for itself many times over.
I think Home Depot needs to sell an $88 cabbing machine!

First update in two months - old #45/Deb193, a rare, classic yellow model, morphed into #105 for Altamura.
Nice work on the pendants, Bob.

I got a WorkForce a couple of weeks ago, The many posts of tips from those of you that have put in the time to figure out what works really made it nice. I was able to feel somewhat confident right off, and am having a great time. I am sawing agates and jasper, so was saved some mistakes having read about what to (or not) do. If not for RTH I would have been only able to tumble broken rough, the ability to work a stone really opens new possibilities... I think I am addicted. Will be looking to get a Husky or Hot Dog blade after learning on stock blade.

Umm, Roxy? I don't think it's a Workforce that you have, although it's a wet tile saw - but I think you have a 10" blade? You'd have to be a WorkForce Supersized! I'd give you a 'yes'!
