It just keeps getting better Adrian! I wish I had your talents!
I imagine past kings would have killed to get a sword that nice.

Thanks a lot everyone! Time for a new update: I finished the end of the handle. Firstly, I made two cabs from local pet wood: I set them in their place: Protected with duct tape for riveting: And then I riveted them, replacing each bolt with a rivet - one by one. After that, I polished again the brass. Here it is: The front: Two side views: The back: And here's the whole sword, just how it is now. Thanks for looking, Adrian

Hello again, these days I finished the six round cabs needed for one side of the hand-guard. If you want to see the cabs themselves, please take a look here. Here is the hand-guard with the six cabs in their place and the rivets put in their place, but not rivetted as the cabs for the back aren't ready yet. And then I removed the rivets, glued the cabs with epoxy in their final position and after that I overlapped the brass plate and bolted it. Thanks for looking, Adrian

Hello again friends, and thank you very much to everyone for your kind words. I finished the hand-guard. I made six cabs from pet woods. here they are, set in their place before rivetting... ...and after rivetting: While I chose the cabs on the front bearing in mind mainly the colrs, these ones are chosen more with the heart rather than the eye: in the pic above, they are as follows from left to right: - a pet wood chunk which I picked from the neighbourhood of Cameron Trading Post this summer; - a small branch picked back in 2008 when I visited Zoran in Serbia; - a piece of pet wood which Karen's Mom (karenfh) gave me when we visited her this summer; - a red Chinchilla pet wood from Australia, Mike gave it to me a while ago - it made its journey here on the sea; - a local pet wood picked by me from a river-bed. nothing special so far, but that is the river which goes through the town Ina's grandmother is from. And even more, my grandmother lived on a street having the very name of that river, so that's how it earned its place on the hand-guard; - and, finally, in the right side, a pet wood from Lesvos island - Greece. Here are some more pics of how does the sword look now: Thanks for looking, Adrian
