Bill, at Desert Gardens you can drive right up to a vendor to load up heavy purchases. Be sure and stop in at I-1 & 2 (West side about in middle).

I just got back from Quartzite on Sunday night. Wow! It was my first time. I spent way too much on rough & slabs. I better sell a lot of cabs & wraps this year.
Besides Desert Gardens, there are other locations with vendors selling all kinds of flea market type stuff. I spent a little while at Tyson Wells & saw a few rock dealers, but saw a lot of junk too. I didn't spend much time there.
There's a rock shop at the west end of Main St. just across from Carl's Jr. called T-Rocks. It's a couple acres of wooden cable spools piled with tons of great material. The back yard has hundreds of 55 gal barrels of rock too. I bought some Mexican Crazy Lace agate, Peruvian Chrysicolla, Indian Green Moss agate, & more. Be sure to check them out. Most of those were $4 per pound (except the Chrysicolla @ $15 lb).

Yay!!! I'm going. My daughter and I will be there on Thursday Jan 13th and 14th. I'm tall, dark, and ugly with a goatee and my daughter is small, dark with shoulder length hair. Look for the dad and daughter team.

I was at Quartzite Jan 7 - 9. I bought some great rough from a guy on the west side of Desert Gardens near the Royal Sahara Jasper booth. He was a tall guy named Bruce. He had everything in 55 gal drums. I bought some Mushroom Dolomite, India Green Moss agate, Labradorite, Chinese Sagenitic agate, & India Bloodstone. Behind him (south) was a guy named Joe & they kind of worked together, but required separate payments. My brochure says Z + Z Rare Stone if that's the correct location. Anybody know if that name is correct? I'd like to contact him. Lynn

Lynn, I can see the Royal Sahara Jasper from my booth and will try to find out for you. I don't know when the guides were printed but they may not be accurate. I decided Jan 1st to come to Desert Gardens and grabbed my spaces when somebody canceled at last minute (actually while I was driving here). He had 4 spaces so the two vendors South of me would not be in the guide either. Do you have the row and space number?

Lynn, Sounds like Bruce Barlow, you can contact him at barlowsgems.net
The party will be at spaces A22 and B22, we have a few chairs and a picnic table, if you have any extra chairs handy you might want to bring them.
Have a great day...........Tony

I think Ralph and Tony wanted it to start around 4-5pm. Late enough that there are no customers but early enough to eat!! Any sides or deserts you want to bring will be great!! We still need plastic silverware, napkins or paper towels. If you bring a side or desert, please bring a spoon to serve it! See all of you there!!

Sheri, we will be there. We usually close around 5:00 depending on customers. Pretty much everybody is gone by then.

I am looking forward to seeing you all. I can't wait to sit around eating and talking rocks and other things ;-) which I'm sure will come up considering the characters we have in RTH. Always some interesting conversations...LOL. Sorry I missed some of you over there. Sure wish everyone could be at the BBQ, oh well.
I'll probably be there earlier in the day to go to the QIA show so if anyone wants to go with me let me know, maybe we can meet up and browse the rocks together.
