Okay, I was trying not to make you all mad and talk about the sunburn I was getting and how the flies were getting to be a problem here just outside of Tucson... but then it went down below freezing last night and our water froze up! ROTFL.
Sweet revenge for you all. ;D Jo

Not so bad this morning. All the way up to 17 for a low. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) Condor and Tony. Just wait, your time is coming. There was a time when I loved cold weather as well. Age does things to you that you never think possible when you are young. I hate hot weather just as bad. 55-80 is my comfort zone. Curt

Man, it's still 12 degress here this morning. Have a light on to heat the wellhouse and it's about 29 in there, Another heater going in my shop full blast is holding the temp up to about 30 degrees but the pipes are still frozen. Got my fingers crossed there is enough space in the lines that they won't rupture but last year when our "global warming" happened I broke a main line and had to have it repaired. Again I don't know how you snow country folks stand all that cold and I'm praying for the heat of summer cause I'm a friggen lizard and love the hot days of the year.....Mel

It's a nice, balmy 6 above in my corner of S.D. this morning. Think I might go out and blow some more snow. I agree with Curt. This old age stuff sucks. After blowing snow yesterday in minus 47 wind chill, it took me all day to warm back up.

I knew I was going to start a religious war with my comment. You guys are obviously going to believe what you want and I won't try to convince you otherwise. Changes in weather patterns like Mel listed are precisely what is predicted and local variation in temperature (either geographic or temporal) has no bearing on the overall trend. And yes, I'm quite aware of Earth's climate changes in it's geologic history: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f5/All_palaeotemps.pngWe can either deny that global warming is occurring or we can choose to live our lives conservatively because the potential downside is catastrophic. If it turns out that we were wrong, then we haven't lost anything. In fact, we'll have more carbon based fuel to burn in the future, less toxic waste in the ecosystem, etc. I, for one, prefer not to soil the nest. Chuck

So Chuck, why is it you think non believers are polluters? I do everything I can do on a personal basis not to "soil the nest". The thing I'm not going to do is fall for every scam that comes along like global warming. Electric cars are a farce pure and simple. Where do you think the electricity comes from that runs them? Coal fired generators. Ethanol you say? Ha! Takes more energy to produce it than it saves. Let's Really save the planet and come up with something that works, not makes it worse.
Why do you think the name was changed from Global Warming to Climate Change? So that they can blame anything that happens. Hot and dry....Climate Change. Colder'n a well diggers butt.......Climate Change. And on and on. It's just getting to the point of being boring any more.

*LOL* Don't worry folks, according to Chuck, having 4/5 of the country frozen solid is just a mere local phenomena. As far as the nest fouling goes. If you are living in this country you are consuming resources and generating waste. Humanity's shear numbers are the problem and any tiny thing a person might do to conserve here is offset 100 times by the pollution and environmental destruction generated by developing nations like China. Your life is short folks, if it makes you feel good to deprive yourself, ride a bike to work, drive an electric pseudocar, or put in solar panels do so, if you don't, don't. Because in the real big scheme of things, the earth and it's weather is going to do what it wants, not what man wants and what little effect "enlightened global warmers" or "nasty gasoline car drivers" in this country have will do nothing to change the weather in the long run. As I've said before, the weather science aholes back when I was in college in the 1960's, were predicting an ice age in 40-50 years which would be, hmmmm, right about now. If I were to go out in my freezing backyard right now, I'd give a bit more credibility to that group of pop scientists *L*.....Mel

Man, it was still so cold today when I went by the pet shop and looked at the cage full of fluffy ferrets ( I like ferrets) I felt like crawling in and burrowing into that big pile of cuddly fur*L* Went out to feed the blackbuck when I got home and the poor things have their fur all fluffed up as much as possible and are all hunched up with the cold. Very sad as they drop some young at this time of year and the babies will probably all die. Blackbuck are pretty much hot weather critters and like the cold even less than I do.....Mel
