As I write this, I am in Houston right now. Just came in from outside. Of course I did. I had to experience the cold out here too. I'm wanting to take a drive but the roads are iced over. I'm crazy about the weather, but I ain't dumb. It's colder right now back home in El Paso. This is wild.

Roads are still icy here, and it is snowing again! It is in the 20s today and it doesn't feel too cold. Donna

;D ;D ;D, 34 degrees and sunny here on the frozen northern plains. Snow's starting to melt. Gotta love this global warming stuff. Another 1 to 3 inches of global warming expected on Sunday, with temps in the teens.

we are up to 37 here today and I am loving it! It has been so continuously cold here, this feels warmer! I read a good article by the head long range forecaster for Acuweather yesterday. Kind of mirrored my thoughts on what is going on. My Grandma used to talk about the cycles in the weather that she would see. I am more concerned about folks trying to alter the weather patterns to "save" the planet. Let her be. She has her warm trends and then swings back to the cold. Not comfortable at all but normal none the less! Here it is: www.accuweather.com/blogs/news/story/45220/bastardi-three-of-next-five-wi-1.aspFran

Well East Texas has been a frozen waste land for a week now. Today it's supposed to get up to 43. Begone snow!

Next year, all you people affected by global warming global freezing climate change mother nature El Nino the jet stream killer bees chupacabras chiggers bed bugs and whatever else is irritating you need to come out here and have a good winter rockhunt out in the Mojave!!
Oh, wait. They just made the whole desert a National Monument where you aren't allowed to walk ride collect parasail stare at or breath. Only the Sierra Club members who have 2% body fat will be allowed to roam the deserts in eco-friendly shoes, respirators, and colostomy bags so the ground isn't soiled.
Never mind.
It's not even fun going to restaurants any more. They just passed a law (don't know if its CA or nation) that forces restaurants to post the calories of each meal. Depressing. Takes the fun out of going out and having a nice meal after a bad day. Like I want to know my burrito has 10,000 calories without guac and 15,000 with. Can I live in ignorance? Can't I just enjoy my life (as Mel says) since it will end soon enough?
Sorry for being off topic a little, but I can't complain about the weather so I had to find something else.
Going away now.

A winter tip for those of you with spritz bottles that are unused at the moment. Fill em with Alcohol and give your windshields a good shot in the mornings, also stuck doors. Keep the bottles (OUTSIDE) in the car or garage because WARM liquid on COLD glass is a NO-NO when temp's are below zero. Most people around here use Rubbing Alcohol but I fill mine with 100 % from the paint store. Spray and wait a couple minutes and most of the ice and frost give up.
Standing in knee deep snow for 20 min. in the morning in the pitch dark, scraping frozen windows is NOT the way to start your day !
Al Gore and company can form a line up my driveway and I will GLADLY hop up on my Tailgate and ECT. ECT. ECT !

Nah Harley. I want Al Gore to do it all by himself. He's the mouth, ( and the blubber ), behind all of this global warming crap.

4 inches more snow last night but it is about 33 degrees now and it working at melting don't think it will do much good with a foot of snow on the ground BECAUSE it it is suppose to snow again tonight and then again on Tues and Wed. I will be so bored I might have to wire wrap. ;D Donna

At long last warmed a bit here today. Ducks and geese finally have a break from sliding around on the ice and I went for a fossil hunt. Man it was nice to get outdoors without freezing my hochies off! Lowell, one thing I do miss about California is the mild winter. It's wonderful here most all the year but once and awhile we get these dang cold snaps which really suck. I do really miss those Mojave rock hunts too ! *L* Love your comment on the Mexican food (one of my major food addictions). Been on a diet since New years and have only one real meal per day and I almost always choose Mexican food when I can. Only problem is Texans around here have a funny idea what good Mexican food is. Really nancy boy mild compared to what I am used to from out west. Have to side order a batch of super hot pico de gallo with every order to make it palatable *L*. Got to say though we have one place has the best dang carnitas I've ever had and then we have Texas BBQ which is also out of this world even if it is a heart attack on a plate..*L*....Mel

Some day try Jalepeno sauce on Cherry Cheesecake! It really gives you gas, but it is very satisfying. I know what you mean however. I like my food hot! Not Cajun hot, that is not pleasing to me, but TexMex hot!

Ok, after 3 weeks and a bazillion inches of snow, it is now pouring and we just had a thunderstorm. Cold spell, warm spell, I think mother nature just blew her top. Pass the hot sause please. lol

Bring on the Cajun food. Maybe I can just turn around, drop my drawers, light a match and melt all that damn global warming off my driveway.
