The unknown in the top picture is painted valley jasper. It should be written on the slab somewhere.

Here is what I took. Here is what I put in. Big slab is Morado opal, there is also a greenish mexican opal, painted valley jasper, kyanite in quartz (local), slab and rough of local copper bearing rock, dino bone and wood. I put in one finished colored doublet and 5 blanks (the photo only shows 2 of them).

Thanks for the ID. I really like the painted valley jasper. Do you know where it is from?

Box arrived today! Safe and sound. What an awesome B-Day surprise. Have to get ready to go out to dinner with my son and his wife very soon but I just had to take a tiny peak... Oh boy! Can't wait to go everything and see it all. It'll have to be first thing in the morning though. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!

Hmm, not sure how to handle my end as it looks like I'm coming due here soon. We are in transit, via Griswold-style road trip, to Rhode Island. We have at least 2 days, possibly 3. Hopefully I make it there before it needs to be mailed to me. I have some goodies to add!

Well, the box is on its way to Cathy. The tape was peeling off the bottom so I did a tape job on it with some semi-clear reinforced tape. Should be good for a few more miles. TR# 03113260000166088427 It came at a great time for me and was a real tonic! I had a blast looking at everything and Billy said I had a big smile on my face the whole time. I really, really enjoyed seeing everything. This is what I took out. Chunks of Turitella, Rose Quartz and a couple I don't knows. Slabs of Lazulite, Pet Wood and 3 Idontknowites. 2 cabs, 4 Turq beads, 2 bolo settings and a cab stand. I loved looking at all the specimens, the Pyrite is really cool, but I'm short on storage space so I left them to others. Tony T's triplets are stellar, especially the colored ones, but I still have one from the last box so I left those for others as well. Here's what I put in... Oops. Wrong pic. I tried to lure this guy into the box, but he would have no part of it, so I had to put these in instead... 8 leather thongs with magnetic clasps that I made, Blue Quartz slabs, Moqui Balls from Sask in Canada, Emeralds and some heart shaped toggle clasps. Some cabs Various slabettes from Quartzsite and some PA Moonstone Anyone not sure how to cut the Moon, let me know and I'll give tips. Tumbled stones from my travels and a Bot bead bracelet Some of you on the list may or may not tumble, so take all of them, or take a few, but I hope you enjoy them! Thanks everyone for the opportunity to participate and thanks again for doing this Sheri!

I've been saving stuff to put in the box, so looking forward to my turn:)!

AND IT'S LANDED...with quite a thump!!!! Jo's taping did the trick and I think it will make it through another pass out to the great Wild West! I'm going to need a few days to check through all of this but have to say... OMG!!! My mail lady still can't believe people actually send boxes of rocks like this all over the place!!!! LOL!

Okay! I have contacted John, who seems to be landed for a bit on the East Coast! I've also been through the box and replaced items and have it all repacked, taped and ready to go...except I forgot to put the log back in... But that's okay because the folks down at the post office are really getting a kick out of my rock activities of late so they won't mind my repacking all of this in the lobby tomorrow morning before work because I am now out of tape. (Small town. It doesn't take much to entertain folks here...) In any event, what I took... 3 Tumbled rocks, 5 chains, 1 leather cord, 1 pendant, 2 turquoise nuggets, 1 easel, 4 cabs, 5 slabs... 1 blue quartz, 1 agate, 1 amethyst sage, 1 crazy lace, 1 moonstone and one of Tony's doublets. What I put in 1 small piece of my "Unknown Jasper", 1 local rose quartz cab, 1 honey onyx cab, 1 obsidian cab, i picture jasper slab, 1 script stone slab (I think), 1 agate slab, 1 Willow Creek slab, 1 pkg 21g square stainless steel wire, 1 pkg 21 g half round stainless steel wire, 1 mask, 1 chunk brown obsidian, 2 Blue Hole stones, 4 Nova Scotia agates, 1 sm obsidian chunk, 1 plume agate pendant John, the pickings are good and it will be off to you in the morning! Have fun with it...and enjoy the repacking! :-) Cathy
