It was a surprise Jan. I gave the guy some advice on buying equipment, and a few days ago a box showed up at my door. Don't even know how he got my address.

It's a real prize Jan, but it cost me dearly.
Over the next couple of days, there are 11 more that I'm bidding on. Some are real beauties.

Hey Don!
Love the continual parade of Fairburns.
I'm putting the Northern Section of the Index together and wondered if you have any other Fairburn stones that you could pair with specific locations (if you don't mind me poaching your photos for the next volume...)
Oh, and your display case has me green with envy. It's almost exactly what I picture for my house, and you've set it up well.

Hey Lowell, feel free to use my pics. I'll see if I can put locations to at least a few of them. I know that several came from the original location at Fairburn, S.D.
If you're not in a hurry, I have an invite to hunt some private land for Fairburns and fossils late this spring. It's a location that very few have been allowed to search, and right now I'm not at liberty to give the location.

Hey Lowell, if you want me to re shoot any of the pics, let me know which ones. Most of these were taken late at night under a desk lamp, with me computer screen for backlighting.

Thanks Don.
The lighting on these shots works really well! I'll look over the others and see which might need another go around.
Love seeing so many Fairburns in one place.

Just let me know which ones you want reworked. I'm still playing with Picasa editing, and am starting to get it figured out.

The sign is a repop of an old one. When I stumbled across it on ebay, I knew I had to have it to go behind my best Fairburns. The company does custom signs, so I'm having them replace the words, BAR & GRILL with the word, AGATES. I should have it later in the week.
I missed out on the sign I would like to have gotten. An original Fairburn Rd. street sign from Fairburn, S.D. A friend and fellow Fairburn collector got it.
