Hi, gem carvers! Our Blue G is (finally) out to the labs, and is looking more and more like something totally different. So, we're offering the first 5 10 carvers who volunteer the opportunity to go crazy with a Blue G nodule! What is Blue G? From the Panoche Hills of Central California, Blue G is a deep subduction material, formed in the same environment as jadeite. We do know that it's high in sodium, and are waiting for further news from the lab. "The Seashell," carved by Ron Martinez, at Quartzsite 2012Several gem sculptors and carvers have been working with Blue G, creating pendants, rings and other lovely gem items. Spheres are being created, and even ear gauges have been carved of Blue G! We hope that RTH carvers and sculptors will do us a favor and try out Blue G. So, the first 10 lapidaries who reply to this thread will receive a 1 pound Blue G nodule for the cost of Priority Mail shipping; $5!These carvers will be working with some of our best small nodules, hand selected for the highest carving quality. We'll post photos of those 10 nodules tomorrow evening, windowed to show color & pattern. The 10 carvers will pick from these nodules; first come, first served! We're fond of saying, "Cuts like agate, wears like jade!" to describe Blue G, but want to hear from more carvers. To fulfill that pursuit, we're asking only postage and a "Boy (or Girl) Scout promise" of a cutting report and photo, to be featured on RTH and at our website. Thanks, carvers! I have never carved hard stone but I have been wanting to give it a try. So if I qualify I will take #2 from right to left or #3 from left to right. Thanks Jim BTW Did you use my ring photo? I can take a better one if you would like to use it.

BTW again. I would say that it cuts like nephrite and wears like jade. It drills and cuts much easier than agate although I have not cut any large pieces. But I have drilled with a hole saw up to 1 1/8" and it drilled many times easier and faster than agate. Plus I do not worry so much about destroying my hole saw. If I was not really careful when drilling agate it would destroy the hole saw in a few seconds. Not a problem with the blue G. Jim

Hi, carvers!
Thanks for the great response! We'll be mining from the 11th to the 16th, so anyone who's waiting for an invoice will get one (by) tomorrow morning, and we'll mail on Weds.
If you haven't reserved your Blue G nodule yet, please make sure that you PM me with your email address, and your choice of nodule. Or, you can just let me choose one for you!
If you sign up, you'll definitely receive a nodule. We apologize for potential delays ... That's mining season, friends!
Be well! Kris H-2-M Mining

I wish I was a more experienced carver. What a great opportunity! Looking forward to seeing how everyone's comes out! No experience level requirements here, Alisha. We need input from all experience levels. Unfortunately, due to a lag bolt through a tire, the shipping won't happen til next week. I'm writing this while in transit to Davis Creek, to mine more obsidian. Of course, flat tires only happen when time is tight, and the weather is uncomfortable. My apologies, friends. So, shipping will be done Tuesday morning. For the gentlemen who're getting nodules for other, please make sure we have their address for shipping. Regards, Kris
