What are you thinking is right. The REASON we are in such a dire mess is BECAUSE the middle class pays a top tax of 35% on $100,000, and those making over a million a year (10x more-500x more) pay from 0% to 17% on average. Imagine a world where the top middle class tax rate applies to the rich who make hundreds of TIMES more. Gee, we could afford everything we have RIGHT NOW that we HAD ALREADY.
Here is THE SINGLE BIGGEST IRONY from what you said about Leave it to Beaver...
The TOP tax rate in 1950 was 91%. You read that right. 91%. In 1952-1953 it was RAISED to 92%. From 1954-1963 it was DROPPED to 91% again. You read that right.
Today, the top tax rate ONLY applies to those making UNDER $200K a year.
Please go look it up.
Could it be that your beautiful memories of childhood were from an age where the USA taxed the CRAP out of Corporations so the middle class could GROW instead of vanish?

Sounds like it's right out of the Al Gore play book.

Helen - Muller testified as a *Republican* witness at a House climate hearing sixteen months ago. Same study, same conclusions – NOT what the wingnuts expected to hear that day since they had limited the witness list to friendlies (deniers) only. The committee’s press release afterwards listed his name only, none of his testimony.

Laugh it up Rich, it's as green as Scotland on the ranch right now and Texas . . . Well you both talk funny but I think even them contrary bastards can be polite to each other without a gun. ;D

Jean (rockpickerforever) – Just for the record, sneezing volcanos are cooling events.

Sometimes I wonder whether you guys ever check the facts..
You are denying global warming by using Anthony Watt as a scientific source claiming that the temperature claims are wrong by a factor of two("spurriosly doubled") but even Fox reported that he "Watts cherry-picked the well-sited stations and reanalyzed their data"
It does sound like dubious science at its best. Even in the Olympics you throw out the high and low scores and average the rest. It sounds like Watts is throwing out the high temperature readings and arbitrarily adjusting the next highest set to get to a questionable conclusion.

So Texas ain’t on its way to Somalia, huh? Consider last year a hint. Burn, baby, burn. Year before last Rich, Texas was colder than a well diggers toe. Does that mean we had global cooling? Or is that climate change instead of global warming? Curt

Oh and by the way, this year we are right at average. High 90's with a few 100's thrown in here and there. Oh no! Global average!

LOL Curt. Here in S.D. we've been warmer and dryer than usual. But for the 4 years before that we were cooler and wetter than average.
Also, this year the Cedar Wax Wings are about 3 weeks early heading south. Wonder what they know that our "climatologists" don't ?

Rich, while the ASH from an extended eruption can blot out the sun and cause cooling, the gas emissions contribute to global warming (see below). Nothing man can do about those! Jean From Wiki - Not all volcanoes give out the same kind of emissions. Usually the most common gas is water vapor, followed by carbon dioxide and sulfur dioxide. Other gases include hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen chloride and hydrogen fluoride. These gases can add to the greenhouse gases, contributing to global warming. They can also cause acid rain. Ash from volcanoes is often a danger to jet aircraft and large eruptions of ash can alter the climate, often cooling it, because the particles reflect the sun's rays. Awww Jean, what's a little hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen chloride and hydrogen fluoride? Don't you know it's trains, planes, and automobiles? Curt

Don't poke at me Curt, I'm on your side. I was only telling Rich that volcanos DO contribute to global warming. And not a thing you can do about it... As for trains, planes, and automobiles, I don't use the first two. As for the latter, sorry about using my V-10 Ford gas guzzling, air polluting beast, but don't think they've yet invented an electric car that can pull my trailer out to the desert (where we pollute the air some more with bonfires, charcoal grills and 2-stroke exhaust ). Que sera sera Jean

Sorry Jean, just being my little ole facetious self. I was poking at Rich, not at you.
I don't have a V-10 but I do have a truck and camper. There is nothing I like better than camping, burnin' that nasty old wood, drinkin coffee, and smokin' cigarettes. Daybreak is the perfect time.
Have Camper Will Travel
