Sorry, must've missed it. I wasn't here until July 2011. Your volcano thread was a year before that, April 2010. So you took part in that thread, but didn't know that volcanos add to global warming? So are you denying that they cause warming? Your graphic doesn't show the whole story. It shows pretty much the immediate temperature drop due to ash cover, but wouldn't show you gradual increase in subsequent years due to the gas emissions, and looks like it's trending up. Nature? People? Of course, I'm sure that it can be blamed on a political party, previous president, or pretty much anything else you want to.

Actually, Jean, I was gonna write typically cooling events or usually cooling events, but subtle distinction *typically* don’t poll too well around here, if you get my drift. ;D

hahahahahahahahaha That is a winner Curt. Common sense is pretty good for digging a hole or not putting vics on your weenie but we are talking just a wee bit over common sense here. Maybe we are just talking just a wee bit over your head here. Common sense tells me "why take the chance if there is a possibility that something can be done about it?". Just like me not using a lick of common sense when it came to changing the timing belt on my van. Some life lessons are easy to fix and some life lessons are catastrophic. But you do not have to worry about it, you will be dead and your children can suffer. Jim

My children feel the same way I do Jim and they are grown with a mind of their own. I'm really proud of the fact they haven't fallen for the BS that people are making millions off of at the expense of the average Joe.

Curt, It seems pretty strange that you are pissed at the Dems because they bailed out Solandra and yet the repugs are giving your money to the big oil that is making a huge profit. I'll bet a much bigger proportion of your check goes to big oil than ever went to Solandra.
I would not be surprised if your children vote for the same people, dislike the same cars etc. etc. Jim

It may come as a shock to you Jim but I'm not in favor of oil subsidies or farm subsidies, or most other ones either. I don't think it's a huge deal like many Liberals though. Our government spends so much money in one day that the oil subsidies are not even a grain of sand in the universe.
Same goes for taxing the rich. If Obama gets his way and those making over 250K are taxed more, the income will pay for 8 days of government spending. Big whoopidity doo. Obama even said himself it was not about the amount of money gained but about being fair.
The government needs to trim ALL the fat. Stop spending.........NOW.

Big wooppey do? If Corporations are people and THEY have a minimum 28% tax (instead of the 92% tax they had to pay in the 1950s when Mel thought things were perfect and was right), then ALL our programs are paid for. In the last YEAR (have not tried to add it up, but at the most the last 3 years) the cumulative corporate profit on just those on the stock exchanges could probably have paid off the ENTIRE US debt and balanced the deficit alone.

Yeah, now there is why I'm a Conservative. 92% tax is really what we need to get things going again........Going right out of the U.S. to foreign countries.

It already has, that bird flew the coup 5 years ago.
I don't agree with 92% tax on ANYONE. However 28% is more than reasonable, since it's BELOW their actual rate anyway.
