Just wanted to update, I now have a 10" slab saw, so I can cut some smaller (3"-4") rough if needed.

Hi, Helen!! Very sorry for dragging around about mailing the staurolite blades and opal rough to you sooner. Will try to get them mailed to you by Thursday of this week. Has been very hectic with family medical issues, but things are looking better.

No rush, Jan:). We are swamped too!!! Between Christmas itself, and we just locked in to refinance my house (we got 3.25% with 0 fees) and switching from Uverse to Comcast Internet this week, it's been madness. I can't do any rock stuff til the holidays is over, I'm so behind with everything right now it's ridiculous! It occurs to me that the older I get, the less fun and more stressful Christmas is! O.o.

Sadly, Geoff has deleted himself from RTH. Going to give it a week to see if he gets reinstated or not...
If not, Susand24224 has agreed to take his place. Susan has incredible rocks and wonderful taste, so this will be a treat too if we have to do without Geoff.

No no no, but thank you for offering Jim:)!
I have to have room in the box for my own goodies, and already have donations from Mario and Jan!!! They beat you to the punch, so save rocks for the box:P. You'll have to remember to remove more stuff this time so you have room:P. hehe.

These are Gingerkid's (Jan) donations to help start the box this time, pix as promised:). First, the Staurolite. You guys can look this up, they are definitely interesting looking and not often seen! Jan bagged 14 of them and included little labels for each with a description: I'm snagging one, so there will be 13 going around (unless I miscounted, but if I did then more are going around) . Then, Jan sent little cardboard specimen boxes, and thoughtfully included a strip of putty (you pull off a little piece and put strip back in box for others) to help hold down your specimen in the box too. There are 15 boxes, and as I already have boxes, I'm not taking one, so there are 2 extras of these: THEN, Jan sent a baggie of 14 Aussie Lightning Ridge opals too! Here they are in hand, they all have some good fire and are different colors too (this is dry). Lightning Ridge opals are considered some of the best opals on earth: Note: these are NOT for tumbling, they're hand cab only!!! Australian Lightning ridge opals are pricey and incredibly beautiful. These are gem quality, with fire, and roughly 1-2 carats each (by eyeball). I'm taking 1 of these, so there's 13 going around:). Pretty amazing huh:)? THANK YOU Jan!!! You won't get pix of what I'm putting in the box for another 2 weeks, sowwy:P.

Very glad to see that the box of staurolite blades and LR opals arrived safely, Helen, and hope everyone enjoys them!
Not so glad that I didn't place enough in the box for everyone. Think I'm 1 short in the LR and 2 short for the staurolite?
Need to make sure that there are 15 participants, not including myself?
Will place those that need to be added in the box when it arrives here so everyone will have one of the opals and staurolite, if that will be okay?? My apologies for my errors.
Sorry I haven't been on the forum much other than reading and hope everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas!! ;D
My mother is home from the hospital and improving.
My brother-in-law, Richard, was also in ICU on life support for the past 2 weeks, and he passed away on the 21st.

Jan, I only spent a few seconds reading, so if you saw my earlier post, I am amending it.
I'm very sorry to hear about your brother in law. I have no idea how I missed this the first time. I'm glad your mom is doing better too.
This has been a crazy year for everyone it seems, and the last month or 2 have been really stressful.
I hope the box turns out to be a nice distraction for everyone. ((HUGS))

I have to thank Krystee for giving me the heads up. I am so distracted, I've been zoned out almost this entire month!!! Sorry for missing it sooner:(.

Big hugs for y'all, Krystee and Helen!! Thank you for your condolences. I think Richard's Memorial service on the 5th with our family and friends will be very special and hope we will all be able to celebrate his life although we greatly miss him. At a latter date, the family will gather to spread his ashes on the Flint River in Bainbridge, GA, where Richard grew up and loved to fish. Where did Geoff go? Looked over the shipping arrangement for the box, and when I add the 2 staurolite xtls, and the opal, I think everyone should be able to have one of each. Sorry about that, y'all.

Geoff deleted himself from the forum during an argument about gun control:(. If you delete yourself, you cannot post, and I'm not sure if the admin can put a deletion back. It's been a week, but I don't see anything from him or any changes. If he can't post, it's hard to participate in a swap, so Susand will be substituting for Geoff. Susan is lovely, has great stuff, and was last year's winner of the World Tumbling Competition:)!!
Am getting ready to set up the schedule this weekend with the little map, so please make the changes you need:).

Helen, look on page 6. I listed what equipment I have, what I have to share, and what I'd like to see in the box.
