Not A problem Helen, glad you like them.... I just grabbed a baggie and a couple hand fulls from my bucket and it weighed in at 3 pounds 11 oz, so I figured I'd offer you some first since you put in all the hard work to make this happen... and it didn't make a dent in my bucket !! LOL I have about 25 pounds of material like that tumbling right now.
gonna be more selective about what I tumble though.. that dendrite agate is beyond cool looking.. first one I've seen from the bucket too!!... you may have the 1 in 1000 rock there!! gratz & enjoy!!
Same for the rest of you.. enjoy the rocks .. that's what they are there for!!

Awesome rocks, Mario!! ;D Is the last one that Helen is holding dendritic limestone? or Trapper Creek Jasper? All I know about these rocks are that they came from either Lake Superior and Montana almost 20+ years ago... they are part of a collection of material and equipment that I bought for $300.00 back around Sept./Oct. I gt my 18" saw in that deal along with a richardson grinder and a richardson buffer, trim saw and about 25 boxes of agates, thunder eggs, and a few boxes of amethyst crystals. Anyways some of the boxes were coming apart so they got dumped together into 5 gallon pails or they would have wound up on the ground, I didn't know the difference at that point, I was "rock is rock!", now I know better. but they still make great tumbling material!! and apparently great cabs too! here's the link to the original post of when I got the material and equipment... forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=buysell&thread=55147&page=1

I'll send the staurolite and LR opal to you next week if that's okay with you? Hi Jan:). Who's Mike?? Is that the guy shipping the staurite crystals for you? That's another surprise coming for everyone! Jan is getting some fairy crystals for everyone, and she's having them shipped to me so everyone can get one of those too. They are pretty unique geological formations that sometimes form a different colored rock 'cross' (I looked them up, because I didn't know what she was talking about:P). VERY kewl!!!! Box isn't going out til first week of Jan, so it's not a problem:). Also, talked to Lowell (Elementary), who will be shipping the ENTIRE Agate Index on CD for you guys (that's agates from every state in the USA). So I'm not loading the box up with CD, and have room for all the goodies, I'd like to request that when you get it, you copy it to your computer, and put the CD back in the box for everyone else, ok:)? This is going to be one interesting box going out:P.

You know, Jan, if someone who signs up for something cannot be bothered to check the thread for it and follow the rules, maybe they don't want to participate:)? I leave that to them to decide, I don't want to dunn people to participate, that takes the entire point of the thing away, which is that everyone is EXCITED and wants to do it!!!
I'm only starting the box and organizing, but the box is about every person in it, it's a group activity. You guys have to love it and want to do it!!! And you have to want to for EVERYONE else in the swap:).
I'll give them a few more days to come forward, if they aren't interested anymore, that's OK. If I don't hear from them in a few more days, then we see if anyone else is interested.
Does anyone want to be backup in case these guys step out?
Is Lowell reading the thread:P? Lowell... would you like to be first on the list? I have the agate index already downloaded... so you can put the CD in yourself and have first dibs:P.

hi everywone, i'm in dana point, cal. now, helping my marine son's family while his wife has 2 brain surgeries, 2nd one is tomorrow, so far, so good.
always loved rocks since grandfather owned a campground in the early 70's where the pisgah river and the crawford creek met in n.c. in the last few years i've been slowly buying a friends equiptment and rock. he's bought a lot of rock from auctions over the years. nothing labeled so now i have been learning from experience. as far as what i have to offer, i think i have about 1000 lbs. of rock, agate, jasp-agate, jasper, pet wood, geodes, some small opal, that i am afraid of ruining for lack of experience. have tigereye, tiger iron, green quartz-adventurine, a little goldstone, green and blue goldstone, many, many misc. slabs of all kinds of stuff. tumbling rough. i don't have many mazon area fossils but have access to tailing piles around coal city, il. if anywone wanted to make a trip to them. i have a 15 lb. tumbler and 2-3lb. barrell lortones. a 16 inch saw, with covington innerds and homemade box. and a 14 inch rock's saw. a 6 inch combo saw-cabber star diamond brand. i have a custom made shaft, from another rth member but need some wheels and a splash cover so i can finish the project. i have a new var. speed 4 inch polisher. would love some of the lake sup. agates, other than that i love the surprise of seeing other members talents. i can also offer cabs and preforms for those without saws, hope this helps as i type ssllloooowww.

Equipment I have: Two 10lb rotary tumblers one 3lb vibrating tumbler one 18lb vibrating tumbler Drill press for rock drilling 6" and 7" trim saw 10" slab saw 24" slab saw... ;D please don't send rocks that big ;D Older 6" cabbing machine with silicon wheels Older 8" cabbing machine with silicon wheels and 8" expanding drum Richardsons dry sander and buffer
I'm just getting started in cabbing, wire wrapping and jewelry so any thing in those areas would be awesome.
I have Pet wood, jasper, agate, thunder eggs, and some quartz. As soon as I can find my camera I will post pictures if you all want. Then I could slab some of the stuff and add it to the box.

Hi Pat:).
I'm going to give Jukerocks til tomorrow to post info and send me email with addy and quick contact (phone #). If I don't hear from her, I'm going to assume she's not interested and will edit the front note to change to you. This way, I can get the shipping order done sooner, which would help everyone with their planning for the box:).
I'm also waiting to hear from Lowell, whom I had asked already. If Lowell wants to participate, I'll ship to him first, so this won't really change anything for anyone else. Hope we get everything settled tomorrow:).

Heard from Elementary, who will be joining us. I'm going to add him to the list at the top, so he can do the CD. Pat, this doesn't change anything, you are still in, and we are still waiting for your want and have list:).
Here's how I see the shipping sequence below. I will leave it up for a few days in case anyone objects to their shipping sequence. What I tried to do was swap people around who were in last time, so they would not be getting from the same people. I ordered it based on what the shipper had available and the receiver might like. This time, I paid no attention to shipping time, because I've discovered that the PO typically takes 2 days to send almost anything anywhere anyway. At most across the country is an extra day, but not always. I don't think we'll have a big delay anywhere.
The box is leaving first week of Jan, so figure roughly 5-7 days per person to get a very rough ETA of when you will be getting it. Last time, we had the exact same # of people and concluded the box in roughly 2 1/2 months. There was very little delay last time, and everything went smoothly, so I expect the same this time too:).
If there are no objections, then I'll put the sequence on the front page in a few days:).
