Hi Dad_Oh:).
Will add you to the list as #15, and we are full now!!! I'll start pulling the box together, but I'm glad I have the extra time!! I expect to ship out the box the week after New Years, and a 48 hour turn around for everyone thereafter.
I'm assuming that everyone has their info (state) in their member profile here, but either way, I need everyone to pm me their shipping address and contact info (email or cell phone). I ask for this in case the shipper can't get a hold of you when your turn comes up. I promise I will not pass your personal phone # or email out to anyone, but I WILL give out your address if another person in the swap asks. You can specifically request I do not. At no point would I give out your email or phone #, nor would I call you unless we cannot reach you another way.
For those who have been in the last newbie swap, I already have that info. Those new to this swap, please pm it to me. You also responsible for getting the address of the person you are shipping TO, once we have the shipping schedule done (after I get the addresses so I can make a shipping map like last time, so you can all see where the box is going to across the country:)).
Please verify that the person you are shipping to is ready to get the box before you ship. Last time, we had 1 person who dropped out due to surgery.
If everyone starts sending me their info, I can start working on the shipping order now. Also, if you have not yet done so, please post what you would like and what you have to send (please no big rocks, some people don't have saws), it helps me set up the shipping sequence too:).
Thanks, this should be fun again:)!!

thanks Helen for letting me join in!!
Well I have no idea what to say/write so I'll wing it...
I'm going to add tumbling mix to the box consisting of 1-2 pounds of small Lake Superior & Montana Agates, Hoping to send them to Helen to put in from the start so anyone can grab some or all whatever you want. I have slabs of Flame agate, Jasper, to add later, and some I-dunnoite, it is nice looking banded slabs, reminds me of Onyx with brown/white,hints of reds nice looking slabs. I have more material on its way to me so I will have more jasper to add including one called Christmas jasper from our friends @ H2M and if I get it in time I will throw in a couple slabs of that too... other than that I will see what I have when the box arrives.
As far as wants....I'm just starting to get into the cabs & wire wrapping end of this, colorful pet wood and flint. Wrapped Pieces that I can study to see how it's done, Agates from all over... pretty much anything or as I like to say ... "It's All Good !!!"

Just a heads up for everyone involved in the Traveling Box.... Buy your Priority Mail MFRB postage online at www.usps.com and you will save a little on the cost, that's what I do with all my auctions and whatnot and to date I have saved enough to mail out 2 MFRB's for free. Buy it, Print it, Tape It, Send It!! very simple. And best of all..... Tracking is FREE!!!!!! when FRB postage is purchased online... another savings on top of the reduced price of postage for buying it online!! Don't need any special paper or labels to do it.. just regular copy paper is all you need!!

Sorry I haven't caught up with this thread... let's see how well I can type (pulled a ligament in my right hand and my thumb has been immobilized to my index finger). It's tricky typing... even trickier since my day job is a bookkeeper, lol!
I can contribute tumble rough, slabettes and slabs. I can also throw in a set of SC belts, 100, 220, 400 and 600 for a 6 x 1 1/2" expando.
As far as what I want, hmmmmm..... I really need slab and cab stands for my display cabinet! I also like slabs of material I have never worked before or have only worked a little.

It's tricky typing... even trickier since my day job is a bookkeeper, lol! Ouch !!! Hope you get better soon... I've pulled ligaments and muscles, they both suck!! especially when it's somewhere that you need to use a lot!! I figured you for one of the Almighty!! Worked most everything stone-related already.... give us some hints on what to put in the box that might pique you interest kiddo!!

I have 2 of her cabs and OMG!! really.... maybe I should send her my crisco/chryso...whatever it is she was ready to come to FL and attack me over, and have her make me something out of it... of course I'd have to give her the rest of the slab as payment for her work/time... I was gonna use it to experiment on and if it didn't work out them toss it... it's just rock you know! <ducks & hides>

Thanks again Helen for organizing the Rock Swap for us. A little about myself:I grew up in Seattle and currently live in the Norwegian hood of Ballard. I have been fascinated with rocks and minerals for years and early 2012 I purchased my first tumbler and found RTH. Now hooked to rocks tumbling I am just starting to learn how to cut and polish cabs. Equipment I own:Tumbler and barrels 12’s 6’s 3’s Highland Park Model E-10 Combo 9in Saw/8in arbor Lortone 6” two wheel arbor w/grinder wheel, Expandable drum and pad My Interests: I recently fell deep in the rock tumbling and am just getting my feet wet in cutting slabs and cabs. I have not polished a cab yet but I’m now ready with material and equipment to do so. I want to continue tumbling while working with making slabs and cabs polishes. My next purchase is a Flat lap by Ameritool and would love to get a Lot-O-Tumbler at some point when I have a more “Sound Proof” place to live I also enjoy collecting specimens locally and abroad. I recently joined a local rock club but my schedule has only allowed me to join one meeting. I look forward to join more and going on hounding trips in 2013. What I have to offer:Washington Green Serpentine – very bright lime green. I forgot where the claim is but can get the info – I can keep them at roughly 4in long x 1/2in tall x 3in wide or break them down for tumbling. Common Opal Stone from George Washington Diatomaceous Earth pits – I can provide larger solid stone or break down for tumbling. Turitilla rough 4in long x 2in tall x 2in wide. I can provide larger solid or cut break them down but would rather have someone that want to cab them cut them themselves as I am to new to be cutting these properly. Blue African Tigers Eye/Hawks eye rough slabs pieces. I also have slab cuts available: Dendritic Soapstone, Leopard Skin Jasper, Washington Petrified Wood, Dendritic Amethyst Sage, Travertine and Wave Dolomite or Mexican Rolling Hills and other misc slabs pieces. I have a slab size satin belt buckle 8" Sachi Perfect Diamond Lapidary Saw Blade 1/2" Hole .30mm - Purchased from Rocklady1 on Ebay. Red Rough Polish bar white gold, silver and platinum. – The Bar is 20 years old though and I don’t know much about it use. My Grandfather gave it to me. I acquired a roughly 200 specimen collection from a local Geological Engineer who passed away 5 years ago. His name is Harold Howard Wright. He wife survived and basically through his collection out in the back yard. I don’t know much about his work and he is nowhere online when searching him and his history. His specimen collecting locations were Southern Boarder of Canada, Washington. I haven’t had much time to spend researching and gathering specimen information from the estate. Sadly all of the specimen information was lost and washed away. I have photos posted on a Drop Box link but if anyone is interested in a specimen and there is more than two available I would be happy to add it to the box swap. www.dropbox.com/sh/dw6y7h7z8hbhlgl/n9KOfku6DsLabels: I have a Brother label QL-700 printer if anyone needs to have labels made for organizing totes and such. I have 1.1”W x 3.5”L and 2.4”W x26.2”L size labels. What I would like to find:My two favorite stones are Mexican Crazy Lace and Ocean Jasper. I do not have any and would love to have a polished specimen piece like a sphere or slab. I would also like some unpolished to cab with when I gain more experience creating cabs later on. Rectangle metal or plastic template for cabs. Thunder egg whole and whole geodes. My partner loves Amber/Copal specimens with bugs in them and would love to find a specimen piece to display. I am also fascinated but don’t own any rainbow and watermelon tourmaline crystals to display but from what I understand they are pretty pricey. Quartz crystal points Rainbow Obsidian polished specimen Display stands for specimens and slabs About equipment needs: I could use a 6in spin off polish pad with a ¼-20 stud right hand side made by Lortone if someone has one they don’t use anymore. I love that we are doing this a little later on so I can go through the list of members who are ahead of me and see what I can find to help with their needs. Thanks again, Matt

Still waiting on folks to get their wish lists and general info in!!!
Let's not wait till the last second... I'm putting material on the side for the box now while I have the time and will add to it later, but not a lot more to add until I get new material.

Sorry about not updating with my info sooner. About me: I live with my wonderful fianceé Matt, love animals of all sorts, and of course rocks! Equipment : Rotary tool What I have to offer: Nice petrified wood specimens from Virgin Valley, Nevada Cabbing of softer materials(harder ones take too long for me to get the box out fast) Novice wire wrapping of finished stones Uncut Kentucky Geodes Various Agates that are too hard on my tiny diamond discs ( I can list them if needed) What I'd like: Cool display items Softer Materials for cabbing I don't really have a "need" for anything at the moment. My favorite part of this box is getting a chance to see everything.in hand :-)

Only 2 people with no info posted... you know who you are, please post them asap so I can do shipping order:). I have a surprise for everyone!!! It's not my surprise, its Mario's (Daddy_Oh) surprise!!! Today, I got a whole SFRB of LAKERS and MONTANAS from Daddy_Oh, packed FULL. WOW!!! This is how they came: There are quite a few big enough to cab, and some adorable super smalls to tumble too:). All of them show a lot of color, some bright bright red, and there are some montana and what looks like 1/2 agate nodules too! Mario told me to take some first, and drop the weight to 2 lbs before shipping the box back out, so rather than be unfair, I poured them out into the box, and grabbed a handful, and I got some Montana as well as Lakers. Here's my handful : This is how many are left and shipping out with the box the first week of Jan, with the rest of what goes in the box (note, my biggest is not the biggest in the box, there are bigger ones still, the handful is shot a bit closer than the box below, so look bigger but they're not): And back in the bag again ready to ship: I just realized I forgot to weigh it... it will go out at 2 lbs as Mario requested, and I'll either add back in or take more out, but they are ALL neat little rocks that you can keep as specimens, cab or tumble. Some are whole, others are broken or chipped. Mostly Lakers!!! (I owe you Mario:P) Since I was taking pix anyway, thought I'd show you guys what could be inside. Here's the biggest one in my handful (bottom right in the handful pix), wet (looks a whole lot better wet huh?), and it looked like a large chip, not a whole rock: So I hit it with the grinder a bit, and this is what it looks like after a few minutes at 100 grit: Here's the backside: Here are 2 really cute ones from my handful (in the pile above too). This is wet (they look very different wet than dry. Dry they look like regular pebbles, if you aren't familiar with Lakers. THIS one looked odd dry too, and even odder wet! (Reference: my thumbnail is a hair over 1/2" long lengthwise): And this isn't a laker or a montana, but I flipped it over and wow!! It's a small pebble 1/2... loaded with dendrites?! (I then poked through the box and did not see any more like this): When you see the bag, don't just assume it's pebbles, especially if you've never seen Lakers before. I did not try to cherry pick (cept the bright yellow dendrite pebble!), but when you get it you can of course. Please leave some for the others still to come with the box:)!! Thanks again Mario!!! WHOOOTTT!!
