#17 if still available please!
Helen, As I said before, I love your work.
The Agate Index files will be included two different ways - one as a CD and the second on a memory stick (or whatever you want to call it.)
It will include only the 2012 volumes (#1 Southwest/#2 Northwest/#3 California) along with the Artists in Agate series that include Bob Rush's portfolio, two portfolios for Dan Heuer, and one of Steve Haynes' closeups of his Laker collection. All showcase some of the best cabs ever to be shared here, and each person uses incredible camerawork to capture their art.
Please copy from your preferred source and replace back in the box.
As for what I can drop in the box - depends how much room I've given.....fire agate (sparkly), variscite (soft), uncut t-eggs (hard), Mel's poppy jasper he's been showcasing (got 3 crates from him when he moved) (dotted), apache tears for tumbling (black), pet wood twigs (pokey), might have a small piece of crazylace I can let go into the box (loco), some clear quartz for tumbling or polishing - might even facet...heck... I'll look at that list again at the front of this thread and see how much Santa I can play...
Hope no one minds that I'm at the front of the line. I don't really plan on taking anything except a piece of glass art (and maybe a piece or two of things to allow more space for specific wants...)

I updated the list:). Lowell, you take whatever you want (cept the individual/tagged glass things), you just have to put something else there:). I am going to put in one of my GIGANTIC rock roses... I have never seen them this big, about 4" in diameter, and came from an estate of a rockhound who died almost 20 years ago (the estate sale was after his wife passed).
I figure even if you have a rock rose, your students will get a kick out of seeing a HUGE one! So unless you have one this big (you don't), you'll have at least one big hole to fill:P.

Happy New Year to you too Dora!!!
And so you guys know, the ones still available are just as pretty as the ones already claimed... I did notice tho that they had more towel lint, I moved them from the kiln in a very fuzzy towel that shed all over the glass because of static electricity (it was cold when I took the pix). Warm towel, cold air, hot glass = fuzzy lint all over the glass.
Also, they are roughly 1"- 1 1/4" each, so the photos are super magnified, they are really cute:).

Hi Jan:). I just got a map, and drew circles and arrows on it. This one's routing isn't as smooth as the last one's, but I already did the ordering without visuals. That's because I wanted to make sure people who participated last time were in a different order than last time, and not shipping to the same people. Last box, I did the routing on the map itself, making a little pattern with the arrows and then wrote down the names, so it was more interesting looking:).

Hi, Cherock here. Newbie but willing to give 110%. Im from SoCal, so calif. rocks to share. Lots of Jasper, Chert, Agate. A little wonderstone and fire agate. Equip.-Saws, Cabbing, and tumblers. You will hear alot about us. Just follow Cherdarock, he is a good read.
Yes, I would like to be a part of the 2013 box. It seems that alot of us want to join in on the surprises waiting in the box. If there is a space, count me in.
Please share with me, any best kept secrets for tumbling and polishing. I want tobe able to produce shiney rocks. Self gratification first, polished rocks. The cutting, cabbing and all else is left up to my hubby for now. He is willing to do the hard stuff and allow me to master tumblling. OKAY, shiney sparkly rocks- here I come.

Well, ok:( I just finished reading all the posts and I am a little late for the Box#2. I still want to be a part of this amazing way to share our rocks. I love everyone's enthusiasm for this hobby. For me, it is an obsession that keeps me wanting. I am hoping to learn some techniques to make my rocks more beautiful than they already are.
Happy New Year to all! 2013 Rocks.

Ok, the photos are done, but the box is not yet packed. Some of these may not make the box depending on how full it is (but it should fit). I will do a final list once I stuff everything in the box, but here's what I plan to get in there:). I wetted or splashed the rocks... they look much duller dry:). Slabs (tried to give a variety): Preform sized slabettes: Tumbling rough/cab sized (mostly flint and pet wood): Goldsheen Obsidians (from last box) - these are great for intarsia borders because they are so evenly colored: Florida specimens (shells in calcite and part of a giant clam): Jewelry, a slice of Zam polish, bezel cup findings left from the last box: New, harder to find findings (Pony tail clips and broach findings you can epoxy stones to): Vintage earrings - these are well made, 1980s style fashion earrings, never worn, that I picked up at an Estate sale. I don't wear earrings, so if you do, or your wife likes them, TAKE A PAIR!! Individual glass gifts in a group: Donations from Mario (Daddy_Oh) and Jan (Gingerkid): I am not sure I can get the below in the box, the rock rose is going. The 3 LARGE tumbled owyhee may not fit: If there is room left anywhere in the box: Flawless and unbroken, hand picked by me at Tampa teeny seashells: If there's more room in the box, tumbled art glass in various textures that resemble sea glass (but prettier): The last 3 above are contingent on how much space is left after I pack what must go in:). Will repost after I get the box packed (tomorrow, going out soon for New Years Eve).

Wow, Helen, that's a lot of (awesome!) stuff to fit into a medium flat rate box. The desert rose for Lowell is gorgeous!! I like the shells and the tumbled glass you made also!

We haven't heard from: 8. fwfranklen (Mike) 9 Paulshiroma (Paul) These are the glass pieces still not selected: #9, 16 (updated: did not label above, but they are for Mike and Paul) The link is at: forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=56315&page=8#636975I know some people must be out of town for the Holidays, so the unselected pieces will still go in the box, but I'm packing it up this afternoon, so if you happen to see this, PLEASE post your preference:). And I wanted to mention something... these are borosilicate art glass pieces, made from the finest and most expensive glass mankind has ever produced. I know when you see a whole bunch of them together like this, especially in plastic baggie packaging due to size limitations in the box, that they may look like cheap glass cabs, they are not. So if you see this note, you may want to pick the one you like best before I pack em up:P. Jan, pix are coming later tonite when I get final photos, and I did have to cut back on the quantities of some things, but I got most of it in the box:). I reused some plastic baggies, but I figured the packaging would get beat up pretty badly after just a couple of people, so please overlook the unattractive packaging when you get the box:).
