Pm me your address if you want the tumbling rocks, Ed.
Ok, anybody want to play again? (I have a lot of Lavic tumbling jasper, and don't really want to tumble it, so we can have lots of games). Since I'm stuck at work still. This time I'm thinking of a man-made material that is sold for use as a lapidary material. Single word name.

Calsilica is not confirmed man made yet. It is still debated. There is some coming out of Peru that claims it is natural also.

Yay, I won. Since it is Christmas Susan, please send my lavic jasper to Sheri. It was fun playing the guessing game.

if you have to ask the answer is no!! LOL carborundum fraud specimen Carborundum: This spiky, iridescent material is not natural. Most specimens are man-made silicon carbide, manufactured for use as an abrasive, or when gemmy, as a diamond stimulant. It occurs naturally in meteorites, where it is called moissanite. The localities for these "specimens" may be Mexico, Schenectady (New York) or others. And on that note, I am off to bed too!!! just finished loading the tree for my lil scientist/rock-hound/numismatist!! Night Bluesky/Susan... Merry Christmas!!

To Sheri it goes then. It's a pretty fun tumbler, lots of brecciation and patterns.
Nope, no natural form of this stuff. And it's not that shiny pavement stuff from Mario's game awhile back! ;-)
