After watching the weather tonight I think Wednesday, Jan 9th would be better than Thursday. I would rather be safe than out on a day a cold front might move in!!

The hunt is tomorrow morning! We are meeting west of Phoenix at the Travel Center of America off I-10 at the 339th Rd exit. We will leave around 10:30am. Just look for the big dark blue Surburban pulling a single trailer with a quad on it. Drocknut and I will be inside!! Oh, and the puppies also!! Great weather and great people ought to make this a heck of a trip! Bring lots of buckets to fill up!! See you there, Sheri

Tony, I do not have your number. I am meeting Dave at 8:30 on the shoulder of I-10 near I-60. I am coming from Brenda. If Scot needs a ride you might call Dave and Charlotte. They are staying in Quartzsite.

Tony, I am so sorry. The weather looked pretty doubtful on Thursday and I just didn't want to take a chance. I will send a box back with Christopher for you! Tell Ralph and Maryann hello for me and I hope Ralph is feeling better!
Oh, and Tony, I will make sure you have a map in case you can get away before you leave to go home!!

Sheri, I know the change of date for the trip messed up a few people, but I think you made a wise decision. Thursday WILL usher in a strong cold front, with big winds. It's supposed to be much colder than normal here in (San Diego area) this weekend, with temps below freezing overnight, and not even getting out of the 50s during the day. I know, for a lot of you this is a regular occurence, but it is unusual for here.
On a positive note, they are predicting high pressure with warm dry weather starting around Friday Jan 18. Perfect weather for the drive out (and hopefully, all the next week!). Towing a large trailer out in high winds is definitely a white-knuckle experience.
Hey to all you lucky guys and gals going to Fourth of July Butte today, hope you find some winners! Jean

I've been sitting here all day vicariously living through all of you going on this hunt. I'll be there in a couple of weeks and will try to get then during that time. Maybe I can drag Tony along with me. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Hi all, well it was just one of those days. First Sheri broke down at the truck stop where we all met up. Then we are just very close to the collecting area and Charlotte and I have blow out on the right front tire. Get going, then Janet and Loren get stuck. Scott pulls them out and we decide to hoof it the rest of the way. Well we are all finding rock, about 1/2 to3/4 of a mile out. Anyways, I head back with half bucket of the best I can find and within the last quarter of a mile I find an about 10 pound solid piece. So getting back to the truck is all uphill and my arms feel like they are 6 foot long. Just a real long good day! We had fun is the point!
