I would like to see the willemite calcite under a SW lamp. Rich Rich, I'll see what I can do tonight. New UV light works great. Even lit up a specimen with daylight coming in the window. I'll get set up before dark with my camera on a tripod, and get some UV practice shots in. If they come out good, I'll post them. Got 19 new specimens coming today, and another 6 tomorrow or Monday.

Nice one Don, they unsually make a beautiful show under SW. Rich Rich, when I get the time I'm going to go through all of my minerals, and see which will fluoresce. I have several sheets of little round color coding stickers. I'll pick out a color for SW, and another for LW. Once I get the plastic boxes color coded, I'll start to catalog everything. I've also ordered a good book on fluorescent minerals, so I'll be able to figure out which trace minerals cause what colors. I need to bring out my lead lined box of radioactive minerals, and put on a real light show. ,

New fluorescent tonight. This one really lit up under SW UV. Very little reaction to LW UV.

Just for the heck of it,I stuck the 2 halves of a Florida agatized coral under the light. Only weak reaction to SW, but when I switched to LW, it lit up. This is the coral under natural light.

Nice specimens for sure. I don't collect thumbnails but several of those minerals do occur on my hard rock claims up in the Boise basin here in Idaho, for instance arsenopyrite, pyrite, cerussite, sphalerite, sadly most of it occurs as minute disseminations in the lode. But I do have chunks of Galena anywhere from a few pounds up to 40 lbs. I also have some olive green pyromorphite from a different area of the basin, with the basal terminations at the end that I found while prospecting a known lead area years ago, don't remember where they're at but I'm sure I still have them. Anyway! thanks for the pic's

A rare and very delicate specimen. The seller did a fantastic job packaging this one. Only found 2 tiny crystals loose in the box.

New minerals today. 2 to start with. More this evening. I'll put this one under SW UV when it gets dark enough, and post the results under this pic. While Muscovite Mica is common, in this copper color it's quite rare. No mineral collection is complete without a piece of loadstone, if for no other reason than to entertain kids.
