Just saw that display case you bought on eBay. That's awesome, I like that the shelves rotate.
Never saw a case just like that before - gonna be looking for one now! Nice score.

The origional front head side is a similar copy of the draped bust cent (I only have 1 origional thus far dated 1802). The back of the coin is totally different |

So, I sent the lady a message through eBay asking if she had more. While I was out working in the yard, she replied yes and that she would list it. Cool! So I go find it to buy it and someone had killed the Buy It Now within 30 minutes of her listing it. ah yeah..... prolly some no good, low down snake fer sure! Which one of you was it?   |

Got some new minerals yesterday. In the first, the pale green is the fairly rare Chalcoalumite.  In this one, the black lath like crystals are the very rare mineral, Hogtuvaite. This is from the type locality, and to date the only place where found.     And finally, this weeks freebie. A 1.90 carat oval cut Citrine.  |

Wasn't me either, captbob. Cool specimens, jakesrocks. Hogtuvaite is a terrible name for a rare mineral.  Kinda like maw sit sit. Oh wow, a gorgeous Columbian emerald! The faden quartz is really pretty. I also like your faceted citrine. Nice scores! |

I may be jumping the gun here, but before ordering any more of these cabinets you may want to beware. This morning I got a message from UPS that the lady had cancelled shipment of one of the cabinets I had ordered. Also, she has jumped the starting bid and buy it now prices way up. Her starting bid is now $34.00 higher than her buy it now price was when I ordered both of mine. I've sent her a message about the cancelled shipment, and am waiting for a reply.
From conversations with the lady, I understand that when she started selling these cabinets for her grandmother, she had no idea how much her grandmother had originally paid to have them made. She was actually loosing money at the original buy it now price. I understand that she has about 200 of them to get rid of. I'd suggest watching her listings for a while. I think she's going to have to lower her price if she expects to unload that many.
On the plus side, the shipping weight is 40 pounds. Probably 4 or 5 pounds of packaging. These aren't large display cabinets, so at that weight they should be well built.
I'll post more when I hear back from her. And if I don't hear back from her in a reasonable time, I'll start a claim with ebay.

Thanks for the heads up on the cabinets, Don. I checked out her listings earlier and noticed the increase in her prices for two that she has listed now, and that both listings end today.
I sure hope she comes through with your delivery.

I got leery when I got that eBay message from her about her "accident". We'll see... She has 100% positive feedback. I don't think she'll want a bunch of bad feedback. I'll wait a day and see what she has to say for herself. Do not buy from this woman until I get back with better news. I've sent her 2 messages now, and have not had a reply. As it stands right now, shipping on my second cabinet is still cancelled, but she certainly accepted my payment, and even sent me positive feedback. |

I finally got a reply and apology from the lady. She says she screwed up and printed 2 labels for the same box. Supposedly it will be shipped on Saturday. We'll see. I'm not really buying the excuse she gave. She did however offer to sell me more of the display cabinets at the same price I paid for the first 2. Offer is good until the end of January. The first cabinet should be here tomorrow. If I like it, I may take her up on her offer and get a couple more. (I suspect my wife will want a couple).
