That is a deal, the later style HP's are the best. It's probably a 14/16 I believe the later ones all would fit a 16 inch blade.

Well I bought it. The seller said no problem holding it until the weather is OK for me to drive up and get it one weekend.
Might have to sell some things to make room. Maybe the vertical belt sander or even the C-40 band saw. Have to see.

Thats cool Daniel - Hopefully it turns out to be a great saw for you. He should have some other good stuff for you to check out too. I have him saved as an ebay seller and he always has some great stuff.

The drive is I-35 all but the last 60 miles.
I know there are always late winter storms, but if I want to be reasonably sure about 10 days ahead of time that I will have fair weather and clear roads, how long should I wait? Until late Feb?

We've had snow in Michigan in June before. I remember big flakes on the way to a friends wedding. You should probably wait until July to be sure.
Seriously though, in Michigan not even march is guaranteed to be safe from snow.

yep, and if you want to go swimming in lake superior while you are there I would wait till august but dont wait too long because by september the water will be too cold again - LOL
I have been snowmobiling in the upper peninsula the first week of april before so its really hard to plan 10 days ahead.

Well I only asked about holding it 4-8 weeks. I hope I don't end up in trouble here.

I would think it depends on your transport vehicle. I don't think I would want to use a trailer but a PU or SUV/lg wagon would be fine between blizzards. If you decide on St Patricks day weekend maybe we could meet up for a breakfast on your way up or a supper on the way back, we'll be in KC.

If you're driving there and back in a day, why do you need to know the weather ten days in advance? Next Friday if the weather looks good for the weekend, couldn't you just give the seller a call and say "Hey, are you going to be around tomorrow?"

Since my Olds Bravada gets only 14 mi/gal I was going to rent a small wagon or something. I would want the 10 days to get the choice or car model guaranteed and arrange my weekend schedule. Rockoonz, the weekend of the 17th is the KC show, so I will be in KC. I think I will offer some stuff for sale in the members swap area.

Well the saw is here. Big thanks rob (robrockshop) who picked up mine when he went to pick up one of his own.
I thought it had a motor because it was listed as "runs good", but it did not. The seller threw in a free 1/3 hp he had, but I need to wire it.
I think I will buy a 1/2hp anyway. I can use the 1/3hp for other stuff.
It appears in good shape, but the drive belt does not look long enough to reach a motor, so I hope it really was tested. I delayed pickup so long that any claim is moot. But, I am hoping for the best. In email the seller did seem an honest guy.
it is setup to feed oil to each side of the blade, but I think I will just be using the blade-in-tank method.
It will be a few weeks before I can really fuss with it.
