Did a quick search and didn't come up with any threads on the above vendor so I thought I'd drop a quick question out the group and find out if anyone has done business with them. Any feedback? Their site is thegemshop.com/osc/about.phpThanks Paul

Good vendor. They have lots of rock from all over and their prices are fair.

prices are fair, but often not the lowest in town. I find the folks nice, but am never completely comfortable with someone else picking rock for me. Have visited a few times, and caught them at shows 3-4 times.

One of the oldest rock shops going with Glen as one of the leading prospectors and person of knowledge in the lapidary buisness.Anything they sell will be first rate or as described.

Yeah Randy, some types you can find lower price elsewhere. Like the Sonoran Denfritic, I've seen that as low as $8/lb

I wasn't going to comment on pricing in the starting thread so that I could get everyone opinions first but their prices did seem a bit high.

I've ordered rough from them and been very pleased. Their labradorite and cold mountain eggs in particular, but others too. Would order from them without reservation.

I am a long time buyer of their rocks, Gene is great and so is his daughter. They have quality rock and prices are to the high side but I have never had a bad rock buy from them yet. George p.s. He has the best rock calender i have seen if you buy enough rock you get one free every year.

Great to know that you've had a good experience with them, George and Dave. I may try them out in the future.
