The US has entered into a contract with a real estate firm to sell 56 buildings that currently house U.S. Post Offices. The government has decided it no longer needs these buildings, many of which are located on prime land in towns and cities across the country. The sale of these properties will fetch billions of dollars and a handsome 6% commission to the company handling the sales. That company belongs to a man named Richard Blum. Who is Richard Blum you ask? Why the husband of Senator Dianne Feinstein, that's who. What a bunch of crooks we have running this country! Senator Feinstein and her husband, Richard Blum, stand to make a fortune. His firm, C.R. I., is the sole real estate company offering these properties for sale. Of course, C.R.I. will be making a 6% commission on the sale of each and every one of these postal properties. All of these properties that are being sold are all fully paid for. They were purchased with U.S. taxpayers dollars, and they are allowed free and clear by the U.S.P.S. The only cost to keep them is the cost to actually keep the doors open and the heat and lights on. The United States Postal Service doesn't even have to pay property taxes on these subject properties. Would you sell your house just because you couldn't afford to pay the electric bill? Well, the Post Office is. How does a powerful U.S. Senator from San Francisco manage to get away with such a sweet deal? A powerful United States Senator's husband is standing by, all ready to make millions from a U.S. taxpayer funded enterprise. No one in the mainstream media is even raising an eyebrow over his 6% commission on the sale of hundreds of millions of dollar's worth of quasi-public assets. Interesting.......JamesP

So does this mean the administration and the media have kissed and made up after their little off the record chat with Holder?

I take pride in psychology that a picked up on after 4 years of paying high taxes on my first engineering income as a college grad. Most of our govt are lawyers.Lawyers are most likely to invest in real estate. And politicians are very active investors in property. So did I.Because politicians protected their real estate gains and income. It was and probably still is about the lowest taxable income in this country. The taxes i legally dodged were criminal. My net after tax income was that of a 50-60% raise in gross income.Smart me. They also own farms and lands. So i got me a 'farm' 30 years ago and made dang sure it made income so i could take advantage of another shelter commonly owned by our dear politicians-their friends-their relatives-their business partners-their friend's relatives-their business partner's relatives. It is a whole society living and feeding on these people and they end up being beloved and cherished and have monuments built in their name.Especially here in the south where deep family heritage is the norm and i observe the spoiled brats w/silver spoon getting away w/felons,rapes,DUI killing innocents. Stories like the above just burn me a new asshole.

Uh... I just looked up that Senator... Dianne Feinstein Her husband is: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_C._BlumHe does NOT own any Real Estate company AT ALL. He is an Investment Banker. (investment bankers play the stock market... which makes them very very rich... why would an investment banker sell real estate like a common Realtor?) It is only legal for a Real Estate Licensee of any state to list properties for sale. Investment Bankers are not Real Estate agents... nor would it make a bit of sense for a stock broker/investment banker to deal in real estate instead of what they know... stocks. Name the listings (address, city state zip) I'll find them and tell you EXACTLY who holds the listings for them, and post the listings ... I think someone just blew big smoke up your behind.

I hope it is a lie.I know a few folks that have gotten burned by the stock market since the present administration.Very Very Rich people that are very very poor now.Forced to do the job of a common realtor with many many millions in listings sounds very very lucrative. It sounds in perfect proportion.I also doubt he is niave enough to print his private company in Wikipedia.Wikipedia???Are you toying w/me HelenS? Scott posted Snopes above... www.snopes.com/politics/business/blum.asp

*L* read the Snopes article Helen. He's not the realtor but his investment outfit is a principal shareholder in the real estate outfit and he's chairman of the board of the real estate outfit too. As such, he stands to make a lot of money on the deal. Probably in the long run, more than just real estate commissions since he'll be making money from both outfits....Mel

Busy guy, anyway. . . Naturally: California awards billion-dollar high speed rail contract to firm partly owned by Dianne Feinstein’s husband All aboard the crony capitalism train! Remember the good old days when Dianne Feinstein would insist her husband remove his name from consideration for government contracts in the state she represents because she didn’t want there to be any appearance of impropriety? Me neither... michellemalkin.com/2013/04/27/firm-dianne-feinstein-husband/

What does it take to press charges against a senator? Probably has to be done by someone else who has his foot in the door. Our government is getting way out of hand.
My son told me that FEMA personnel are now wearing a patch that says "National Police". What the hell is going on there. That brings another name to mind, KGB. The cesspool in Washington is stirring and I do not like the sound of it splashing on my rights and freedoms. It is time to unite and march on Washington. 4-5 million people marching should be able to get some attention. I wish I had more organizational skills. Jim

Read the Snopes, it says that he is COB of the CBRE Group. Even snopes says he doesn't 'own' the company. It's a publicly owned company, which means shareholders own the company. Further, he's not even the President of the company, which means he has nothing to do with the day to day activities of the company.
I looked up CBRE Group, and it's the largest commercial real estate brokerage in the US. Snopes said that the 2011 contract was competitively bid... this doesn't make sense, you don't BID a real estate listing.
However it makes complete sense that the USPS would pick the largest most prominent brokerage to handle their listings, and also complete sense for them to give all their listings to one brokerage company to avoid confusion and paperwork redundancy.
Any profits made from the sales go to the actual listing AGENT, and the profits to the brokerage go to the stockholders. I can't see any hoopla at all.

I live in Florida, and have no impact on the election of any Congresspeople in California. Just saying that I don't see a problem with the USPS giving large commercial listings to the largest US corporation for listings. Those 'deals' are so huge, starting with zoning issues, they'd have an army of accountants and attorneys involved, so they aren't mom and pop type listings, that most brokerages couldnt' even handle.
Anyway, California can vote her out of office if they don't like her. The rest of us can't do much about it either way.
I don't think Florida has any important seats up for election in 2014... but I think we'll likely have an unusual turnout just to get rid of Governor Rick Scott... and that means that whichever Florida seats will be up, they're going Democrat because everyone hates Rick Scott.

This real estate matter is another boring and depressing subject of another greedy crook w/fat hand in cookie jar.A repeat offender at that. This is what this man is good at.Sounds like his MO.I wish they would do a TV series on political criminals. That would pull tremendous attention in.Snapped,Sins and Secrets,Murder Next Door,Who The Hell Did I Marry.Just here in Atlanta the in Fulton County-OMG it is funny as ever. What a bunch of wanna be govt gangsters getting caught constantly. That is why citizens resent or dear government. This case caught my interest because it was in California as so many folks on this forum are.Scott slapped the Snopes article up there. The case will be under scrutiny for sure and i may hopefully read the facts straight from the citizens of California.I really like that part of this forum.
