LOL! Not a concern, since I wouldn't be anywhere near where either of you would be:).

James, it's a phenomenon I've been studying with great interest here. I think it has to do with herd mentality. People think that if they gang up on the 'misfit', they will elevate their own position in the herd. This only applies to the lowest positioned members of the herd, since those higher up would degrade themselves to newcomers by behaving the same way. The members that feel they are on the fringe anyway simply have nothing to lose. It's an interesting way to quickly see how a person's inner mindset works quickly:).
In the case of Geoff, he's still mad at me about a perceived slight that happened roughly 6 months ago, when we had a discussion about PTSD. Then again, he felt that I was directing it at him by arguing about the obsolescence of the Garand. So he takes potshots where he can.
Jean wants your attention because she admires you. You pay more attention to me than you do her. It bothers her tremendously. She erroneously thinks that if she's mean to me, it will elevate her in the forum's, and your own, eyes. She doesn't realize that this only encourages other misfits in the herd. She's damaging herself to the majority of the forum.
Me? I AM a misfit in the herd. However, for me, it's a choice. That and I like rocks:).

Geoff, I had no idea about your disability. Hope it gets better. And no, no one's going to hunt you down, least of all me.

You're just a relative newcomer to the forum:). The difference now is the personalities are coming into the open, rather than undercurrents.
Geoff is a good person, even if I piss him off. I wouldn't have pissed him off if I knew about the disability however.

Man, I hope you feel better soon! I think I might know what you mean about feeling like that at first. A couple of years ago, I leaned up against my boat and something nailed me in the stomach, hurt like the dickens. Turned out to be a red wasp on a nest at the curve of the boat where i had leaned up against it. I killed the wasp and shrugged, getting stung by a wasp is no bid deal for me, but the sting got infected and made a bit of a boil. I watched it and made sure it drained and washed it with peroxide/alcohol often and it cleared up without going to the doctor...but after reading you say that I now wonder if there is not something to that. Maybe if you get stung, injected with bug go-juice, whatever, and it hurts more than it should, could it mean that the offending arthropod is infecting you as well? I may be more mindful of this the next time I get popped and it hurts more than it should.
Take care of yourself and do what the doctor says bro!

Thanks Ash. Just the thought of a mosquito sticking his probe in you and removing blood while inserting a little blood thinner is scary.
But mosquitos probably kill more people than any critter on earth....from blood diseases.
So any injection from any bug/reptile should get attention.
Poisons bother me less because they are less likely to have bacteria. I would rather go out poisoned than bacterialized hahaha
But injections with "bacterial intent" suck. They spoke about alligator teeth harboring bacteria. Another one is water snakes. And i have more fear handling a water snake than any other. They have infecting bacteria too. That is the bitingist snake on the planet. You better have a good education on handling snakes if you choose to play with that one. My workers will abandon the work site if i do not get rid of the snake they spotted. So i often grab and sling the fast moving water snakes and used to get bit 2-3 times a year when i had employees. I don't think my older body could fight that infection off anymore.

Jamesp is much better thank you. But i had to get off of it. The doc said the antibiotics would get ur done and she was right.
I think stay up on it w/my long days was causing way more swelling and then the flesh damaging hardness.
She was confident that i would not abscess.
Thank you for your concerns. I did not want bother you guys about nurturing me as much as treating me like a science project-seriously:) I thought the whole affair was fascinating.
