I spent some time looking today, and wow... are there a LOT of resources/vendors for this. Am definitely going to spend a whole lot more time figuring this out. It's fascinating. As for crap from China, one of the most fascinating threads (gotta read the whole thing), states that China is the main supplier of the nicotine component, and Europe supplies some (less pure) too. There is no such thing as US nicotine. So... the BEST of what you are buying is 'crap from China'. The sites who claim 100% USA are untrustworthy sites to buy from, because they clearly don't mind false advertising, read: lying, already. Here's a reference blog, didn't keep the link for the thread. blog.e-cigexpress.com/2013/03/made-in-usa-e-liquid-well-sort-of.html

Found a Canadian vendor who sells Tobacco blends with Vegetable Glycerin instead of Propylene Glycol too. This one appears to be highest rated with 178 reviews: www.canadaejuice.com/ry4-doubleI figure I won't know which I like til I try them, so I ordered a variety of smaller ones and a couple of bigger ones to see which I liked best. Thanks Helen.

Btw... I have NOT TRIED this myself yet... waiting for all the stuff I ordered to get here.
According to the article above, the guy things that Vegetable Glycerin tastes like old fried oil. LOL! I have NOOOO idea if that's true, since I haven't tried either one. However, I have never minded fried foods, so that wouldn't phase me. Nor is there a reason to be fearful of propylene glycol given that it's got full FDA approval... except for the vaccine issues...
To me, choice between fried oil vs inhaling more toxin than I need to is a no brainer, so I ordered all VG. Since I've never had it before, I won't know that it's gross compared to the other stuff anyway:). If you haven't ordered yet, you may want to consider that the PG formula may be more dangerous than the VG, but may taste better. My view on that is, I obviously love the taste of burnt paper... how bad can burnt oil be? Yet plenty of people think the VG formulas taste better too. So guess we'll see.

Generally the only people who use 100% V/G are those who are allergic to P/G as V/G does have an effect on taste and does cause your device to gum up as it is very thick as opposed to P/G Most use a ratio of P/G V/G usually 70/30 though some liquids are better at 50/50. If you do use a P/G base it is recommendee that you drink a lot of water as P/G can have a dehydrating effect. Stu

Also if you decide to use a device that accommodates a tank to hold your eliquid as opposed to a prefilled cartridge be aware that certain eliquid flavors can cause a plastic tank to corrode. Flavorss such as cinamon or those which are acidic will cause a plastic tank to corrode and should only be used with a glass (pyrex) tank. Stu

I've read that about plastic tanks, and that glass tanks are better, as well as the increased cleaning. I figure I can deal with the cleaning with a box of denture cleaner, which is what I use to clean empty bottles anyway. Other reason I like the VG idea is that glycerin is a humectant, it would prevent dry throat ... and I happen to have 5 gallons of it sitting in my playroom already:).
Actually, having not even gotten my cigarette sized set, I'm already eyeballing the Kangar pyrex ProTank II with a 1000mah Twist battery. I've learned a lot already about how the juice is made. I'm even wondering if some of these home-based sellers aren't using straight up fragrance oils. Won't know til I get a variety of juices to find out.

I have the Kanger pro tanks and I find them very easy to use fill and clean. The coils are also very easy to replace clean. P/G will cause dry throat that is why you need to drink extra water. There are many bad vendors selling eliquid and there are some really good companies who actually make their ejuice with naturally extracted tobacco. There are some that even extract their own flavorings. Best to read the reviews of the various vendors. Which device did you get? I went with a Provari with the 18650 2000mah batteries and the extended end cap. Stu

I haven't decided on an advanced setup yet because I haven't even gotten the beginner set up. I ordered 4 smaller 808 batteries, and 4 packs of assorted cartomizers, every type of plug for this, and a bunch of ejuice from a different company (liberty flight) so I could study them.
I just took a look at the Provari, and it looks heavy and awkwardly shaped (without seeing this, I don't know that it's true). I think I'd rather have a box shape than a round one if it's going to be bulky, so other thought was the itaste VTR, which is due out soon.

Yes the Provari is a bit on the heavy side however not so much so that it is uncomfortable. It is though built like a tank and will la for ever. I also like the Itaste and it to is quite well made. Stu

I got the Bloog setup in the mail... decided not to wait on the IVR and bought the MVP so waiting on that to get here with the juices now.
Even tho the bloog is little, I really like the cartomizer and ease of use so far. I'm sure I won't like it long when I have to spend $3 an hour smoking it tho, so hope my juice and MVP gets here soon:).

If they really wanted to stop smoking they could just put a self-exploding cigarette in random boxes packed with c4 that would just blow your face off and no insurance company would cover it. Problem solved.

Problem solved. What a dick. If it is not your problem or have anything to do with you why are you sticking your ass into the conversation. You don't smoke and guess what, nobody gives a s%%t. We are discussing a health issue. If you think quitting is a piece of cake, try it. Jim Oh god, now I am going to hear in a high squeaky voice "I used to smoke and just threw them away and never smoked again".

SSOOOOOO How is everyone doing with the E-cigs? For me it is getting better and better now that I am not sucking down all that tar, charcoal and about 100 other nasty chemicals. The only problem I have is sucking on it too much so I have to keep reminding myself to put it down. Jim

I have been using mine since Friday night. I'm quite impressed with the eGo-W. A I fill it up about very day and a half. I still have a pack of smokes on hand. I find it hard to use the vaporizer in the morning. I have gone through one pack in 4 days. The savings has all ready paid for the juice and shipping. Smokes are $14 a pack here. 70% taxed. I'm trying out the Black Honey Tobacco, it has more of a pipe taste and smell. I like it.. Thanks for all the info Jim and Helen, I can see this catching on with me. No more standing out in -40 having puff at camp.
I just found out that E-juice is illegal in Canada if it contains Nic. I can see them legalizing it after they figure out a way to tax it.

What that does is make a lot of children hungry because more poor people smoke than wealthy people and as hard as it is to quit people buy cigarettes instead of food. I really do not understand why the liquid would be illegal. It is much healthier so in the long run it will take a burden off the health care. Can't fix stupid. I guess there was no problem getting it shipped across the border eh? Jim

My mother, brother and 2 sisters in law are all using the e-cigs since Christmas of last year. Each one uses a different kind! They all live close and were able to pass them around so everyone got to try different kinds until they found the one that worked for them. I'm on the other side of the country & was on my own. Tried a $100 kit from smoke everywhere and hated it! The thing bubbled like a mini bong and leaked some kind of oil - horrible!! I used the disposable kind from the gas station when I couldn't smoke a real one but it wasn't the same. Anyway - the 4th of July fireworks scared my dog and she jumped on me & broke my ribs. I ended up in the hospital with a pulmonary embolism (blood clots in my lungs) After a few days of intense pain and not being able to breathe...I realized I hadn't had a smoke in days!! And I haven't had one since.
The point of this ramble is to say don't give up, try different kinds until you find the one that works for you. Mail the ones you don't like to a friend and try what they didn't like etc.. I never realized how much the cigs affected me until they were gone

$14.30 to be exact for a pack of 25. Its one tax that no one bitches about. So the Governments go hard as hell on it. They are very expensive, there are no Mohawk bootleggers in Sask. So they tax the hell out of them. Tax on a tax to. I ordered from 2 places. They made it across the border but is hung up with DHL somewhere. I was not home when they tried to deliver. I found a place in Canada that sells the juice with Nic. Wonder how long they will stay in business before the feds shut them down. Its the only place I have found with the Black Honey mix. It is a bigger crime here to get caught with counterfeit cigarettes than pot.

HAAAAA!!! How am I doing he asks...
Well... now that I've spent $700 in the last 2 WEEKS buying E-cig related stuff, finding a NEW obsession, entering contests, and causing trouble on another forum... very well thank you:).
I have discovered that Bloogs suck, even tho I was incredibly impressed with my first impression. I spend $150 on my first order, bought 4 little batteries, and 1 of them doesn't hold a charge. So I call and write them. We're not talking a lot of money here... and in 3 days they never got back with me. FURTHER, while the little e-cigs are a nifty idea, they are way too small, the cartridges are way too expensive, and they need way to frequent recharge.
So, in a fit of...I MUST try everything, and do everything related to e-cigs, I have, or have on the way, no less than 8 units larger than Bloog units. 2 MPV 2's, an itaste VTR, 2 DV ego-T's (for testing my brand newly created juice blends with my new dripless atomizers), 2 1000mah Ego-C's, and a 1000mah Ego Twist.
Why so many? Well, I needed a backup for the MPV's so got a 2nd one (I LOVE this unit, it's the perfect size/weight for me to lug everywhere - I'm NOT crazy about round shapes that roll around spilling juice all over). The VTR, well, I wanted one the moment I saw it, that won't come for weeks since it's not on the market yet and is a pre-order. The ego's and DV's and Twist I got as testers for the new glass tanks I am planning to blow myself. What kind of glass artist would I be if I can't make my own juice tanks?
Then I spent $300 on ejuices and DIY ingredients to mix my own (hey, I'm a hobby perfume blender, so this is right up my alley).
So, how am I doing? I am having a blast!!!
I have a favor to ask... if any of you are on FB, will you vote for me in the new e-cig contest? Even if you aren't on FB, will you make a FB account and vote for me:P? Just send me a PM and I'll give you the link:).
Oh. As for smoking, I am down to 2 cigs a day. I'm not trying to quit smoking mind you, just after e-cigs, cigarettes taste disgusting, smell disgusting, and I force myself to smoke because I'm supposed to, but clip them out after 2 hits (YECH). Then about 3 hours or so later, I pick up the clip and take another drag, then put it out again. Why the heck did I do that for decades? Eweeuu.
