Tauraus is well accepted in these parts. I deer hunt to Fossilman and have experienced many within 20 feet. It is a rush. Your gun would do the trick. Whitetail are toughest animal to kill. We use big guns for kill power. Bear are easy. Rumor has it moose and elk are easy. But Canadians told me you Whitetail are very hard to kill(will to live). LOL,James,I lived two miles from the Canadian border for over 35 years in North Dakota and shot many a whitetail(close to 75) with my 220-Swift,most dropped right on the spot, some ran,but not far.. North Dakota its a draw on buck and allowed up to five does,if you wanted to buy the tags...I averaged four to five deer a year... Now a Mule Deer will take a hit and keep on going! Hunted them in Montana,I've shot Mulies with 243's,220-Swifts and 7MM's,all did about the same-I always get the heart shot... Haven't hunted an Elk yet(but will),yes I'll use my 7MM on him... As said a Badger will take a hit, look you in the eye and keep coming!!! Shot one with my .17 Cal.-it kept coming, took seven shots to bring him down.....(All head and lung shots).. I haven't hunted bear yet either, but Pa' In Law,said its a piece of cake(with a few under his belt)... A moose you better be a good shot with a big rifle-toughest animal I think, more so than a buffalo!! I hunted squirrel and rabbit with my .117 pellet rifle,it would take them out first shot! Got an old Daisy pellet and BB rifle, bought it from a drunk for $10.00,had it sent away to have it rebuilt with new seals and rings-just like a new rifle now,all steel and wood too...

Man our whitetails are tough. They really are. We hunt 270 30.06 even 300 mag. Must be the acorns. Alabama and South Carolina is a deer(doe) a day for the whole season and i think Georgia is 12 doe and 2 buck,1 must be a 4 on one side. The warden is glad that i kill w/all year permit. They are trying to thin them out from over population.
I do not want a badger after me. That things sounds like a martian. You are lucky and fortunate with your experiences. You are the Fossilman.

ha - buffalo ain't crap. I have an air rifle for them! lol
I have the exact same air rifle (except left hand) as the dude at 20 seconds in this video. A rare gem of an air rifle. 458 caliber uses 45/70 slugs 800fps at 500 foot pounds of energy. Only about 70 a year are made. Dude makes a waiting list from postcards. He draws lottery style. The only luck I have ever had! I got on the list the first time.

I taught my wife Tammy how to shoot and hunt, while we lived in North Dakota.....She is very good at the rifle and pistol now.. We usually set targets up and challenge the shooter to certain areas of the target.. Here is Tammys with the two shots with the 220-Swift,than I called her on it and she dumped a round from the .17 down range too...LOL,she won! Here is her first buck ever!!! We did a "European" mount on it...

I would not suggest target competition w/many ladies. They are steady and cool w/a gun. That would be a serious trophy in my hood Micheal. You got 2 trophies in that photo old man. I am jealous that your partner hunts w/you. You guys got it goin on.
