Box arrived well as soon as I get done from the field I can get it on the way it should be in the mail by Tuesday. 10/11 Ok it's packed up and ready to go 10/14. There was entirely too much to choose from but I managed with momma's help of course. Here is what I snagged, along with a few beads and a couple small pieces of turquoise. and what I added Some settings that are kinda victorianish, some ear ring hook thingys, misc tumble mix, groovy composite cabs Davis Creek obsidian (H2M Kris), imperial jasper, ocean jasper, some kind of picture jasper, crazy lace, variscite (tony), turtle shell metamorphic something or other from area 51 Fresno, and a hunk of genuine Illinois coral.

The blueish black one with the white is from the big hill just east of Exeter, Ca. I think it's some kind of serpentine ?

Come on Guys & Gals, get some stuff out of that box before it gets to me. I'll probably only take 1 or 2 things out, and try stuffing several pounds back in. Gettin too old to pile any more up at home. lol

Scott, you are certainly most dashing! Glad to have the old you back. Although I did kind of like the shining sun! The only dashing that Scott is is dashing around trying to catch all of his rock balls when they get loose. Well, it could happen. Old you and new you?!?! What am I missing here? I thought Scott was always old. If the chain saw next door does not stop pretty soon there will be no old Jim because he popped his cork. GGGAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH Non stop all day and I am about to loose it. I mean really loose it since I could not sleep at all last night for some reason. First time in years that I have been up all night because I could not sleep and what do I get? A FRICKIN CHAIN SAW ALL DAY. Has anyone seen my gun? Jim

Sorry you couldn't sleep, you know that old folks don't need to get as much rest, right? Old and new Scott is him switching/changing his avatar around. The one he is currently using is the dashing one.

Appreciate it Mario. At my age, I'm trying to reduce my rock pile. Not add to it. lol Not a problem Bro.... I'm trying to grow a pile of rocks myself..... not so easy here in florida.... back home in CT, I could grow a rock pile without even trying... here the rocks sink into the sand overnight and I have nothing left by morning!!!

Just read through all the posts here and think it just fair to move the previous post here. A big thank you all for all the contributions, there are lots of interesting and to me unknown material. Some smooth looking chert Some wood Possible Indian Gold? ? Some closeup of the orbs and the golden spray (is it pyrite or copper???) Completely unknown, yet I like the colors But the best from this parcel and most puzzling to me is this one. It looks like black agate, but is tense enough to have a very high "Ping" sound, resembling OB, yet the visible breaking edge looks rather more like Jadeite than OB. In the meantime: several ID's have been cleared up. The pyrite piece is from @azrockgeek, maybe Tim, can enlighten us more as to what it is. I do believe that last is black jade (not from me) maybe from @wampidy? The complete unknown far left is large crystalline gabbro from tandl, Ted can enlighten you more on that one. Everybody these last ones attributed to me were from the extras for the traveling rock box 6B. This was a group effort in rocks and funds to pay the postage. Yes there are some really nice materials in the lot and many long practice sessions should result from it. Will be interesting where the jade came from. To produce this sound, it must be very pure and tense. While more on the greenish side than black, this is material that will be my ticket back to try my hand on anything Jade again. I'm usually not keen on jade, but I like the dark near black ones. The third to last pic is fuschite, with not too much ruby. Jean Thanks for the ID Jean. That leaves the piece on the right (stunningly beautiful/attractive color)in the picture set of three, and the origin of the jade. Last but not least; may I ask again: Do we know who will have the box by mid November? Would like to add to the box as a small thank you for sending me all the wonderful material. Best regards, Kurt

I did not send the black jade. The pink in the second to the last photo may have come from here but I am not positive. It looks like some of the stone that I have. I sent quite a bit of stuff and do not remember what I sent. Wait, wait, wait. What shape is the black piece. I received some jade/nephrite "LIKE" stone in a trade from sampson in Canada maybe a year or year and a half ago and I may have stuck in a piece of that. It almost has to be jade/nephrite because I made a ring out of it and could not break it by whacking it on a table. Super tough. Sampson told me that he can pick it up off the ground not too far from his house. After studying the photo again I am pretty sure that is what it is. Glad you got it and can maybe carve something great out of it. You should be able to carve it thin and not have to worry about it breaking. Jim
