Ok folks I am still at the beach and have not seen the box yet much less opened it but wanted to help keep tge thread lively since I aint at home to check on the box. The shrimp are fresh out of the shrimp boat and still movin guys and I am loving these things!!!!!! Sauted in butter n garlic, deep fried in peanut oil, blackened in a skillet, tonite shall be....... Sauted with mushrooms and served over linguini!!!!!! Truly wish yall were here!!!!! Have had trout, mullet or white fish to some folks, red drum, and small blues too!!! Fish caught by us on a head boat!!! Have seen Wilbur n Orville Wrights digs, wild banker ponies in Ocracoke and Corrolla, all four light houses, Corolla, Bodie, Cape Hatteras, Ocracoke and thats the order from north to south. Have seen a lot of small sharks caught off the Avalon pier. Watched the dolphins race only a couple feet in front of the prow of the headboat jumping and sideways etc. That was a amazing sight and made the whole $45 apiece headboat trip worth while!!! Lets see..... oh yea we walked the beach n found some really nice shells, great banding and colors plus some pieces are iridesencent and very cool looking! Question...can I cab these or put them in a vibe tumbler to shine? Today is fly a kite day cause a cold front is coming in and the wind is kicking! Only disapointment is the oysters! Apparently tgey say there was so much fresh water coming in from the constant rain from all spring and part of the summer that the oyster beds are not doingbwell and are mostly still closed....sad. But havent given up, want some steamed bad! These are smaller oysters that come in clumps a lot of time, plus they r very salty. I like to get it on my fork and put a dot o horseradish and some cocktail sause on it!!! Yum!!!! Going home Sat mornin. Oh yes goofy golf is on the schedule too!!! Sorry to hold the box up but I promise to, put nice things in but they r small so by taking slabs Jakesrocks and others will have the room they crave to fill it up!!!! Also I need your address Dad Ohs, I sent a pm but maybe I did it wrong and you didnt get it?

KK the first picture looks like my flint ridge flint, the black if its from me is magnetite a high grade, the green would be epidote mixed in to test it try a magnet if it a tracks it that's what it is.The Indian gold looks more like what the magnetite normally looks like that would be quartz running through it the gold is not pyrite but some other impurity it also has some pink feldspar that some time's is present. Wow opened the box tonite when I got home and it was well and safely packed. My girlfriend n I went thru it and carefully repacked it. I added a piece of Larimar, some turquoise that is backed, some that isnt including a real thick piece that is Kingman and I think when cabbed will be Kingman waterweb spiderweb blue.... shoild be a nice one. Also three pieces of Hogg mine rose quartz that stars and all three have a area of perfectly clear that is facet grade so faceters shoild like it. I cab it. Also a few of my tumble cabs made in the loto by Bikerrandys recipe.
What I took was a slab of Wampidy Sunrise, I have seen cabs from his stuff and love it! Also two small pic jasper pieces, a small crazy lace, a I think mookaite slab, a uniakite, and a something in purple with a tan center and finally a piece of I think Lucin variscite with matrix. Thanks folks. The box will go out Monday to Dadohs. I am gonna try to send pics to Scott/Shotgunnerific to post for me. Rock on RTH Traveling Rock Box!

George Thanks for all the info: Magnet sticks slightly to the slab; so Magnetite it is. The presumed Indian gold though does not have the slightest effect on the magnet. So does not appear to be the same. Feldspar is present at both the Gabbro and the Fuschite as evidenced by areas of sheen (on both in the dark sections). The ones in the first picture appear to be the same material, but the unmarked one is visibly more solid. The one named Georgia Chert does look like you could take it apart with your hands.
