"the grips" a condition where it feels like something has gripped you around the middle and squeezed hard enough that everything comes out both ends, usually starts with vomiting, ends with days of running for the can.....I've been living on water & Gatorade for a while now.. some dry toast too helps.
and on to the box !!!!!!!

Land of gems & mineral galore!!!! find yourself a mountain, hill, or even a bump in the ground and start digging, you're almost bound to find something... just hopefully not a sewer pipe with a pick axe!!! get yourself settled in and if you're in the right area build a couple outbuilding with cots in so you can rent the out to the rest of us when we come out your ay to go rock hounding!!! but seriously, hope the move goes well, the moving in part can be more stressful then the move out!!

You're bout 1.5 hours from from Franklin which is whee we collected last time we were up there and we are planing another trip up for 2014. The seeded places are not so bad as they were an excellent intro for my family into what I am doing and got my daughter hooked on rocks & minerals too. I am hoping to come up with my friend and his family too and we will make time to stop by for a meet & greet. I am always keen to meet people I talk to online and meeting people from RTH is like meeting long lost family members. It will happen and I look forward to it and if you have the time we can try some hounding together with the families too!! give me enough time and that small mountain will be flat garden spot for your tomatoes !! LOL

your right Mario, franklin is a good place as is Cherokee, but I really like a gem mine in spruce pine. it would be great to meet you and yours and sift or dig for gems and or gold. we can find room somewhere on our 5 acres. also thanks for the fine lake superior agates you sent me a while back. mark.

I will put some nice slabs in there And some loose stones and wrap the p!ss out of the box .. has anybody ever used ups or fed ex are they that much more expensive . this is the second box this month that was busted open .

I've only shipped a dozen boxes but when I do I drink dos XX.... oh wait, I meant I use alot of tape. Went through a whole $1.50 roll just sending 2 Large boxes. Pretty much wrapping every square inch so that thing can roll down a hill and turn to dust on the inside but the tape will hold together. Cheapest insurance I've found.

Yes tape is the secret, I double the tape by taping it all over in one direction and then in the other. There is a automatic $50 insurance on flat rate boxs, we need to start collecting the insurance! The box was in great shape when I got it, thats a miracle, usually flat rates are round by the time I get them. Its ok Darts we are gonna persevere and keep tryin!

It might also help to glue the bottom flaps of the box. I now glue the little flaps of all small FRB's that I send out. An extra lining of cardboard helps also.

Thank you dartscreek for taking care of the box and re-filling.
Please double box, shove one box inside another. When nesting them there is always a corner or two that don't wanna go in. I use a large blade screwdriver and push the corner in, then the rest is simple.
Then please tape horizontally all the way around the box, top and bottom, then tape normally. Recent shipments of stones worked perfect this way.

I'm sorry the box broke... I wrapped 3/4 of a roll of packing tape on the box after sealing the top and bottom with tape... my wife thought I was crazy winding the tape around it. I have only had 1 box break open on me and that was my mailman who dropped it as he was loading it. he even stopped to tell me he did it by accident, cost me some slabs but he got to see what I was doing and takes better are of my packages now. But I find him the exception because when he is not here I got lousy packages even if they only weigh a pound. This will probably be the last box I participate in, not because of anyone here, but because I cannot trust the Post Office to do their jobs properly. If we can come up with a decent alternative that is not too expensive and will do a proper job I would consider doing it again. that and if I can ever get rid of this craap... my sinuses are going ballistic and I'm off to the doc again!! Getting that hvy cough that usually means bronchitis
