Yes, Mike, they are South American. And they are hot mothers, a little goes a long way. I don't know how much freeze they can withstand, but in milder climates (some freezing temps), the can live up to 15 years! They are thick fleshed, so they are mostly used fresh. But you can remove the seeds (which are a dark brown/black color), cut the flesh up and dry it like you do the others. I posted a thread on the Lapidary and Gemstone forum just over a year ago: gemstone.smfforfree4.com/index.php/topic,11051.0.html EDIT (Don't understand why it won't put the entire URL in the link?? Just copy and paste, sorry.) Easier to post the link than to repost everything again! I'll drop some seed in the mail to you, Mike.

Scott, you didn't know? I joined that one a while back, but mostly I stay here. It feels more like home to me Yes, many of the same people, pics of the same rocks and cabs. I don't really care to see and comment on the same posts numerous times.

OK Fossilman. Do not crap in the woods. As we say in the south, 'these pepers are hot enough to set the woods on fire'.
You right Jean, don't be goin out on us. You're our property.

Don' you worry none, now, James. I'm not going anywhere, I like it here. Although many of the same people of the other forum, they are of a different caliber on this forum. Better? I don't know, but different for sure!

James, white trash is not in my dictionary, you'll have to come up with a different description. But I do like you, nonetheless, warts and all. Ha.
