The ways of using this site are clearly stated in the "no sales until 50 posts" rule. That's a good rule to keep the community close knit, and avoid this becoming a group of overseas mineral dealer/spammers. Get to know the folks around you, and you'll figure it out for yourself.

Thanks for your response. , Fairly frequently we have people sign up on this site who have no desire to contribute to the group and whose only intention is just to try to sell us something. Lily09's solicitation could have such a similar appearance. However, I didn't interpret your response as being of the same nature. It seemed to me you were just trying to be helpful. The home page stats show that at any given time there are always a number of quest visitors to the site that are not yet members. I know some guests follow the threads on a regular bases and have grown familiar with the site and familiar with the regular posters, even though these guest are unknown to us. I just assumed you had been one of those regular guests and that is perfectly fine with me. If it is your intention to join the site to participate in the fellowship then I welcome you! Deb193redux is not the overlord of this site and has no right to tell you or anyone else to leave. If this was just a misunderstanding of your intentions then I am sorry you were given such an unfriendly welcome. Thanks for your reply. I had not intention of upsetting anyone, just trying to help. I discovered this site through a friend and thought it looked friendly and a good place to hang out. If Deb193redux wishes to appear immature and petty that is their right but I thought being that rude to others is just not called for. I will hang around a bit and see what the site is like, I'm most posters are very friendly.

In my humble opinion which I'm entitled to I think, the fault is the poster's for not knowing the rules - more so than yours for trying to help. Stick around and I think you'll find this an enjoyable place - most here are nice and polite and we all have rocks in the head. |

Personally, I do not see why wholesale trade cannot happen here. Everybody knows catmandewe and NM Stone Supply and riverbendlapidary sell here. I believe they all do both wholesale and retail. As previously mentioned we'd appreciate you contributing something other than sales, but sales is part of this and many of our members are significant consumers of semi-precious stones. |

What makes me nervous is that we not only do nto know this person but also there is some conflict in the person's post vs. profile. The profile says lily09 is female but Dean (lily09) says he is a male in a post:
"But i am a vaseline glass guy."
Maybe he hit the female button by accident, but when I see conflicting information like this it sends up red flags to me.

Hey guys, I've been dealing with "rocksofmexico" for a while, he's as genuine as they come. This is the guy that I got the Mexican dendritic agates from last week to do the cabs that I posted on the cabs section. My most recent purchase from him was a chunk that weighed almost 30 pounds and his prices are awesome!! He's here because I pointed him in this direction and I believe that others here can benefit from him as I have.  |

My opinon is everyone should give everyone a break in this scenario and lets all just get along, the guidelines are obviously clear now, and I will not be taking sides, I like everyone on here and don't want people to be angry with eachother, im a newbie myself so I would ask the other new comers to respect the members that have been here first....I hope this is the only argument I ever see on here, I didn't join to see fights
