I cannot get out of the house anytime soon to go looking for my own specimens. Can anyone recommend where I can buy unsearched mine run or unserched gems and rocks that I can go through in my workstation cleaning and sorting. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

You also have crap feedback. He may not have the best feedback, but I am so pleased with my order that I received this past week that I will definitely continue to buy from Christopher. He even made up for my order taking so long by doubling it plus some!!!!

I am totally new to the forum, but I have bought from OSRS on eBay before and had a good experience. I don't think I've left feedback yet, but I will. I bought the mixed 20 pound box.

Well here is the deal. 12 posts, crap feedback, and trying to sell stuff way before the required minimum post count in blatant violation of the selling rules.
Smells funny to me.

You also have crap feedback. Sounds like you have a personal vendetta with this person. Well here is the deal. 12 posts, crap feedback, and trying to sell stuff way before the required minimum post count in blatant violation of the selling rules. Smells funny to me. Foxtail, Where is the minimum post before selling?? I cannot find it on here myself. Before you answer anything else I wrote, please post the link at the top of your reply so I can read it!!I think this whole tact of attacking new members on here is wrong... rather than a simple explanation of the buying policy, with a link to it which would be helpful, we, there is more than 1 person who does this, have taken to attacking like a pack of ravenous dogs every new member who makes this mistake. I would hate to see someone get ripped off on a sale here, but if it's outside the forum, it's not up to us. if you want to comment on it, research it first so you have your facts ready. and also try to look like someone who is out to help people transition to this forum and our way of doing things... not throw them under the bus because you think you can. Besides that, as he, OSR, is selling on Ebay and not thru this forum, any sales would be protected by ebays buyer protection plan thru Ebay & paypal. Which is mentioned in the sticky in this section on buying/trading... I just read it!! "use ebay for your transaction if you are unsure so you are covered by the buyer protection, costs you a little more, but you have added safety." I also went onto Ebay and checked his negatives and all of them show being shipped to the people that bought them, within 4 days, whether or not they requested refunds.Shows a willingness to correct a problem to make a customer happy!! Also, have you bothered to ask OSR why the negative feedback? was their an illness or some other reason for them, or did you, upon seeing negatives, pre-prejudice yourself against him and decide to spread that poison to everyone else here just to make yourself feel better?? If this is the direction of this forum, we are in trouble and as a whole this forum will die. I for one am tired of these unprovoked attacks against the new members because someone, not just you, who can't put forth the effort to be civil, decides they are the rock - nazis of the forum and tries to chase everyone out for a mistake. Maybe next time you, or the others, might use your brain for more than Lapidary and try civility, suggesting that the people read the rules on selling, and post the link for them so they don't have to search for it. I for one, cannot find it although I did read the guidelines in this section about selling/trading. And 1 last item for everyone to think on.... He, OSR, did not start this thread, someone else did and he replied to it, so, for the sake of the "rule" about selling... it does not apply to him for this instance as he is answering a question posted by another looking for an item with what he has available for sale on Ebay and NOT here!!, as is his right to do so. At this point it is up to the 'would be buyer' to check him out with people here and on Ebay. You are wrong to jump in and attack his, OSR's, credibility.

Unless I bought from the wrong buyers (most likely)unsearched mine run is a marketing ploy in my opinion. Like nobody is going to let a half oz nugget of gold go for, say, $60 for a lb bag. Some one please correct me if I'm wrong.

Some one please correct me if I'm wrong. Lee #1 I can honestly say that if I were selling mine run and a 1/2 pound gold nugget was sitting in the bucket/barrel of mine run I was using to sell bags from I would be very tempted to pull it out of there too... that's something you put on the website to show what could be possible. But then again, it's a question of morals, Morality dictates that you leave the nugget there so that the buyer sings your praises and continues to buy from you and becomes a positive advertisement for your company. If you are struggling then you may pull the nugget and crush it into smaller pieces so there is more available to a broader base. I have bought gold in mine run bags and it is usually fine due to the fact that the mine sends everything through a crusher and the mine company tends to pull any large pieces they find, the workers get a * for finding things like that. depends on who you buy from and so much in life is a crap shoot anyways, it's always a gamble, whether you mine it yourself or buy it from another.

I used to buy bags of dirt a lot.....most contained gold to some extent.....enough to enjoy and learn the process of panning, but yes I am pretty sure they all know what are in there before shipping....most say extra added, and when there was that one big nugget....it would say + 1/2 gram nugget inside!... just don't spend too much on it, its a hobby....your not gonna strike it rich doing this....Hope I was helpful

Don't let that one big nugget distract you either by the way....theres a lot of fine gold flakes a new panner will miss searching for that one big one....kind of like a kid shaking a cereal box around looking for the prize

I was using gold as a for instance, I've bought unsearched mine-run, untouched by human hands emeralds - they were 100% crap.
If I had a mine that produced 1/2 lb nuggets, I would not be messing around selling mine-run to wantabe gold panners.

Unsearched? Well It is all in how you look at it. unsearched mine run used to be called tailings lol, Will you find interesting thing? YES! Are you going to find perfect gemstones? NOPE! Unsearched boxes of rocks are possible but honestly I would rather a searched box lol I have bought a lot from members here and have Always gotten more than expected. The rock shed has great rough and is pretty fairly priced and always weighed out to the heavy side (order 5 Lbs, and it will weigh out to closer to 5 and a half). Had mixed results on Ebay, some as expected, some pretty disappointing. Also please remember that tumbling crystals and gemstones is often a flop and very difficult. We had a bunch of Emerald tumbles way back when and I don't remember any of them turning out particularly well.
