IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.
AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OF OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.
THEREFORE MAY 19TH HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT TO THEM" DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF GASOLINE THAT DAY.
THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT.
WAITING ON THIS ADMIINSTRATION TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO?
REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF GASOLINE GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING MATERIALS, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC. WHO PAYS IN THE END? WE DO!
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE. IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.
SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE MAY 19TH A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

Hey, I thought you invaded Iraq for cheap oil.
Didn't you?
There weren't any WMD's, and now there's no cheap oil?? What's up with that???
If you really want to make a difference, take fifteen minutes on voting day and get rid of Bush.
Just imagine the power you'd have if everyone.... voted!!!

Get rid of Bush for Kerry? Bush is the lesser of two evils. Kerry is a clown! Anyone live in California? You havn't seen HIGH prices until you've come here...

LOL - you guys think you have it bad over there - we pay around 9 USD per gallon over here in the stinking UK.
How much do you pay?
England is terrible - its a disgusting place to have to live in.
You guys have it lucky - trust me - vote Bush in again and you'll do ok.
Again - how much is a gallon of gas over there?
Andy.

TWO!! Two dollars a gallon? I'd buy the petrol station if it was that cheap over here! There you go - you are indeed a lucky bunch over the pond there.

Gas where I live is $1.80/gal. In San Antonio it's a little less. Talked to the son of a friend that winters in Belize - it's about $8.00/gal there. So, I don't feel so bad! I have a Ford 250 V10 (gotta have that power to pull the RV) and the gas prices are hurtin' me big time - takes away my rock money I just ordered a Land Rider bicycle, so that will be my mode of transportation for places I can get to under pedal power. I have already filled my tank this week, so I willl avoid gas stations on the 19th. Roxalot, it doesn't make one bit of difference who we vote for because no matter what they say about every vote counting, our votes don't count. Our electorial system is so corrupt the one that gets elected is the one who has the money to buy the most votes. Politicians have been buying elections for decades. When you have a system that allows illegal immigrants and dead people to vote there's a real problem and to clean it up it would take a major shake up. And that will not happen until Americans wake up and decide they have had enough of government corrpution. And when moral and decent men and women can get elected. There's something definitely wrong with a system that allows politicians to spend milliions of dollars to get elected to a position that pays $140,000/year. There is something wrong with a system that allows politicians to receive hundreds of thousands of dollars from PACS (lobbies). When a Senator, Respresentative, sheriff or whatever has to repay the favors for acccepting all the money to get elected, only certain people will benefit - and the people that benefit are mostly nonelected government bureaurats, not we the people. When you have agencies like the IRS, FBI, ATF, etc. that are allowed to run roughshod over the citizens, steal and kill with little or no repercussions for their actions, then the government is out of control and it's time for the people to wake the hell up and say NO MORE! But, we have a country full of people that are on the government dole, refuse to take responsibility for themselves and their actions and are just plain stupid and lazy. True liberty takes education, responsibility and action and few folks today are willing to take the time and effort to understand what the heck is going on with our government. Few even understand what true liberty is. The USA has been a huge social engineering experience and thanks to the public schools, churches and media, it has been successful. The majority of people are completely unable to think for themselves and rarely question what the media tells them, even though there are glaring inconsistencies. It's really quite sickening and we are now paying the price for our ignorance. There's not one lick of difference between Bush and Kerry. They are both corrupt and evil men that will do whatever is necessary to keep the status quo. The have long forgotten they are to be our servants and till there is a significant number of people with the courage to rise up and bind them with the chains of the Constitution, things will continue to spiral downward. Thomas Jefferson said if we did not guard our liberty that our children and grandchildren would be serfs on the land we fought a Revolution to free. He was right, we Americans are slaves to an illlegal, unlawful, criminal, corrupt and evil government and no election will change that. I have spent a 12+ years researching the codes and the law - which are two entirely different things - treaties, and other various government documents and if the American people really understood what has been done to us by a criminal government going all the way back to old Honest Abe (Honest Abe - Ha!), there would another American Revolution. Thomas Jefferson also said that the tree of liberty has to be watered with the blood of the patriots every 20 years. We are long overdue for a watering. It is way past time for Americans to demand that these criminal politicians be held accountable for their treason. End of rant!

They're not all the same. Bush is worse.
He's making America look very, very bad - what would you think of a country run by a guy that thinks the Earth is 6,000 years old? It's easy to be cynical and dismiss the process, but things are getting critical; if you don't get rid of Bush soon he'll take you down a path from whence there is no return. In a very short time you'll have no clean air, no clean water, and no rights left - so wake up and take fifteen minutes to vote.
As a comedian said the other night, voting for Bush is now a sign of a serious character flaw.
Canadians don't really fear the Arab hordes, we fear American policy. A country run by a madman sooner or later goes looking for a little more lebensraum.
Gas is hitting 90 cents a litre here; it sucks but that's life. Drive less or pay, it's up to you. I don't know why everybody's complaining, SUV's were 28% of the car market last quarter, so I guess lots of people have lots of money for gas. I once heard that California is the home of the five car family, so hearing Californians complain about gas prices is hilarious.

Rox, I understnd what you are saying and agree - kinda. Bush is an idiot and and if ya' think he's making America look bad, think about how we Texans feel when that Yankee carpetbagger and his corrupt family say they are from Texas! Hand me the puke bucket! ;D Quite frankly, we are already on a path of no return and it won't make one iota of difference who is elected president, until American's WAKE THE HELL UP and stand up to this corrupt government and fix it. As I said before, there is not a bit of difference between Kerry and Bush. They may appear different on the surface, but one has to look below the surface. For example, Kerry is extremely wealthy. He has million dollar homes all over the world AND a number of BIG gas guzzling cars. In fact, he has more homes than the Bush clan. His wife is/was a Heinz - of the Heinz foods corporation which extends far beyond ketchup and does it's share of polluting. So, he ain't a bit better in that respect than me and millions of other driver's of gas guzzling vehicles! Until he gets rid of his gas guzzlers and starts driving an electric car, taking public transportation, walking or riding a bike, he's just another lying politician. Kerry's environmental policies will do nothing to lessen pollution because he will not do anything to bite the hand that feeds him. Multi-national corporations are the biggest polluters and they pass out money to all the politicians so the vote will always be beneficial to them. What Kerry will to is continue to vote for legislation that destroys the "little people" He loves legislation that gives the government the power to declare some farmer's land a "wetzone" and makes it unuseable for farming and growing food to sell at the market to support his family. He is really good at voting for legislation that steals private property from Americans and puts it in the hands of the government. The thing about politicians in America is that they want their bread buttered on both sides and are willing to do whatever it takes to keep the gravy train going for them and they don't give a rat's a*s*s* about the American people. The politicians of today are bought and sold with every bit of legislation Congress puts forth. They care nothing for the citizens of this country, only their own power and money. You can't just go by what those lying creeps say, you have to watch what they do, research their past, check their voting records, etc. When you do that, you will discover they are all liars and crooks. Actually, although I will never again vote until I am given a worthy choice to vote for, I do hope Kerry wins this election. Because, when he does, this country will rapidly sink into third world nation status and maybe then the American people will wake up and decide it's time to water the liberty tree and rid ourselves of these cretins.

James, Kerry reminds me of Lurch on the Adams Family! The lesser of two evils. What a tragedy that this country which was to be a light of freedom and liberty to the world has been reduced to voting for the lesser of two evils! I won't do it again. I will go to the voting both - we still vote by paper ballots here - but I will vote for the Libertarian, if he even makes it to the ballot. If not, I will write in red marks a lot across the ballot "NONE OF THE ABOVE"

Hey, I actually agree with both of you. llanago, it IS time for Americans to stand up for themselves, but we have become pampered and lazy, and no one really cares about anything any more unless it directly effects them. Sad, sad, sad. But what are we to do?
My younger son says when he grows up he is going to start his own country. He's 16. That's how bad it is, that our children have no confidence whatsoever in our government. But, perhaps that is a good thing, and when they get old enough to make a difference, they will. Hopefully.
BTW - I'm in Texas, too. Dallas. Yes, Bush is an idiot. Have you heard his latest quote? "Well, the good thing about volunteers is, they don't cost much."
This man is running our country, and may very well be re-elected because of our corrupted voting system. I don't know about you, but I am very frightened.

Hey, Kerry DOES bike! And it's not amateur, round the block photo-op style biking, it's long distance stuff. Anybody that can do a hundred km a day on a bike can't be all bad. (This is real biking, BTW, spinning the pedals with your feet, not sitting on a Harley.)
That's half the problem right there - you can't just dismiss people, you've got to look a bit closer. Nobody that is serious about biking is going to put a former oil company exec in charge of protecting the environment. That is just sickening - yet no American notices, no American cares... Kerry ain't perfect, but hey, right now Stalin would be a better choice than Bush. (Yeah, I'm kidding about that, Bush is nuttier than a fruitcake but he hasn't killed ten million people. Yet.)
No excuses, folks, thinking Americans simply have to vote this year. I swear, if I lived there I'd be organizing rallies, I'd rent a da'mn buss and drive seniors to the voting booth - and this is coming from a normally very non-political guy. Bush must go.
Sorry for sounding like a broken record, I'll shut up now.

Well I'm going to throw my opinion in the mix (this is really unlike me) but here goes. First, in all this talk about who would be a better president, lets not forget about the other side of our "representative" governement, The Legislature. To an extent whomever is elected president will have he/she's hands tied because of the decisions made by our legislators. Secondly, in my humble opinion part of the problem with our elected officials is when politics became a career choice! Thirdly, as far as the campaigning goes and the set up of our "party" system well, if you'll check your history you will find that it's only been in the last century that our country has become a 2-party system. Before that it was not uncommon for there to be 3 or 4 parties running a candidate for president. Now I realize there are more than 2 parties actually out there, I often vote Liberatarian myself, however I think the majority of American people are either not aware of that or they just don't care. Fouthly, I don't think there will be much change until the people of this country stop whining to the federal government to do something everytime the citizens of this countries lives become inconvenienced or difficult. It began with "The New Deal" and hasn't stopped. Now I realize that we could have it a hell of alot worse, but it's truly sad that the citizens of this country are willing to throw away all the sacrifices that our forefathers made in order to keep their lives lazy and convenient. After having said all that, I'll now be keeping an eye out for the next couple of weeks for that dark-window tinted, black, armored SUV!!! Call me paranoid!

Personally the gas price seems insignificant to me given that you guys just had a beheading of one of your own. That guy died a death so screamingly awfull - and you lot are going on about gas? I dunno. Bush... I love him - he brings hope to my ears. I love the way he struts around like a chicken - pluck at this and pluck at that. What a dude. You folk dont know how lucky you are. Polishing rocks and such. Quit the gripe and enjoy life everyone - well thats what I try and tell myself to do anyway. Andy.

The not buying gas for a day is a hoax that started in 1999 and there were several that didn't buy gas that day and it didn't work.

I agree Andy. I like bush too. He has more character. Kerry on the other hand, would make a great anti-christ. If you ask me, I stand by Bush 100% By the way. I watched the beheading video. I've seen plenty of this stuff before but this one was beyond evil. I was actually left spechless for about 5 minutes. I litterally could get a word out of my mouth. And they blasphemy God while they did it? These are the kind of people Bush has the balls to stand up to. Clinton didn't do anything about them because he was scared about public outrage if he were to act in a preemptive maner (Like Bush rightfully did.) Kerry doesn't have the balls either. I get tired of all the bickering from the left. I used to be a democrat. Not anymore...

Llana, well said. If this were a bar I'd buy you a beer.
As far as May 19th goes. One day of not buying gas would only make the gas lines longer on the 18th and 20th. If we would somehow stop buying gas period then yes the price would come down.
I got an email the other day about the "Bill of Non-Rights". Some of you may have already seen this but I'll post it for those of you who havn't seen it.
