I am seeking a source for coconut geodes. I specifically seek the ones Gem Center calls 50% hollow. 90% hollow is too hollow for my purposes and Gem Center's prices are usurious. So, can anyone help me find 100# or more depending on price of coconut geodes in the USA?
Perhaps you know a seller at Quartzite?
Please and thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide.

Scott I am probably mistaken but I think I saw those at my local rock shop Consolidated Rock and Mineral. They have bins of several different types of hollow geodes for sale. I wouldn't know specifically what you were looking for though - it might be worth a phone call.

How large of geodes do you need? Do you need whole coconuts?

Consolidated is awesome but you'll end up paying for shipping from NorCal...not sure is you care about that. Locally you might give Walt Lombardo a call. He's the owner of Nevada Mineral and Book over in Tustin. I bought a crate of coconut geodes from him a year or two ago that matched your needs.

Gem Center family owns the mines, probably won't get a better price anywhere else unless you can find some old stock somewhere...

You can get a better price than $30 each at Knotts Berry Farm Geode shop.

I talked to Walt and he indicates for what I want, $30ea is a good price. He said, that is what he'd have to pay.
I spoke to Gem Center. They offer no discount for even 2000#.
I doubt the dude at Knott's is selling the geodes I desire. Unless he has old stock. Do you know him well enough to know he won't lie and sell cheaper goods as las choyas?

I was talking to a person at Richardson's Ranch last week and he just got a 40,000lb shipment in. I think he was asking $3.25lb for ones up to 2"? I could be wrong on the size. They were sold by the each on sizes above that. Bob

Thanks Bob. The lead is appreciated.
I will contact them. I cant buy a container, maybe the 6" ones I seek will be affordable.
I think it would be really cool to buy container qty's...... That volume wont be high graded ahead of time.

I just spoke to Richardson's Ranch. The recent shipment was Morrocco Geodes.
The 6"+ Las Choyas Geodes are $229ea and UP!!!!
LOL, The Gem Center Website will sel them for $30 so I have zero clue where that type of pricing came from.

No searchers meeting tonight. Vet center is closed.
Walt keeps his own hours. I usually visit on Saturdays so I can't speak for his weekday hours. :-)

Tommy - PM'ing you. Need some advice on Clear Creek. Also, we'll be up in Walnut Creek over Thanksgiving for a short visit with Grandma and Grandpa. Maybe we'll see you at Consolidated! It'll be a quick turn around trip.
