Coming home from Pebble Terrace picked up 5-10 pounds of tumbling material drove through QZ, Desert Gardens about 10% filled same for Tyson Wells. The "CHARACTERS" that are common to QZ were there in full force, McDonald's in QZ has to be the melting pot of the world this time of year fun fun fun. Did find some nice rocks picture is of a Jasp/Agate with great color, wife found a beautiful petrified coral which is a little hard to see but diffidently a rarity in the desert.SORRY no picture says forum has exceeded its limit.

Seeing as how much of the southern California desert was under a vast shallow inland sea in the geologic past, fossilized corals and other sea life are NOT a rarity. To post pics, you need to use a photo hosting site such as Photobucket or Flickr. Here's a link to instructions - forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/22977/posting-pics-instructionsWould love to see pics of your haul!

Lots of coral around the pebble terrace area and across the river in the iron wood canyons on AZ side. Pebble Terrace is an ancient course of the Colorado River several miles West of current course. Many marine fossils can be found there. Huge area of water worn rocks a little strange to find in the otherwise typical desert. South of Palo Verde a little ways is a coral reef outcropping that is pretty amazing.
