Those are super nice dino bones, bhiatt! What is a 'sleeper?' Have you had a chance to display your collection yet?

Those are super nice dino bones, bhiatt! What is a 'sleeper?' Have you had a chance to display your collection yet? I guess a sleeper is one/something that performs better than it looks, in the case of the dino bone though it looks better in hand than any photos. It is like glass. I haven't displayed it in public if that is the question. I would like to one day though at the local rock shows. There isn't even one piece of dino bone or dino jewelry at them shows around here in St Louis. They get big crowds too. I think a gembone collection to show would be a great addition to the shows. I don't know anybody or heard of any gembone collection in the St Louis area. Mark Anderson, a good buddy of mine, is doing a presenation and a big gembone display at the Agate Expo that happens only once every 4 years. Its a pretty big deal. He has asked for some of my specimens to show off. www.agateexpos.com/symposium/mark-anderson/

Thanks for the link to the Agate Expos and enjoyed reading the article on your friend, Mark, of Different Seasons. I remember you sharing a piece of gem dino bone that he made on the forum, bhiatt. Which dino bones of yours will be shown at the Agate Expos? That is an excellent idea to show some of your collection at shows!! But, I wondered if you have your collection being displayed at your home now? I think you had them in crates or in storage of some type?

I don't have a big display like shelves or anything fancy. I do keep some of them out for my viewing pleasure. I will get back on here later to show a few that are going to be at The Agate Expo. Its like 65 degrees outside. Time to get back out there.

Cool! I would not have recognized some of those as bones. Thanks for the education.

Will check back to see if you've had a chance to post yours that will be at the Agate Expo.

I have shown these on here but they will most likely be making an appearance at the Agate Expo. The people who run the show gave M.Anderson two booths with large glass display cabinets for specimens. The booths are booked up years ahead of time. There is another collector or two that is going to help out so all in all he will have a great display. M.Anderson has some wild display pieces also. here is a start. More to add. bold red with amethyst purple. this spray effect is pretty uncommon and the color shade is real nice. Its small but he wants to use it. the fortified leg bone.

I vote you National Gem Bone-man. Great specimens for educational/specimen display site. Call in the Pro photographers and let them get some fine photos. Maybe the Smithsonian has or needs a display of such.

Beautiful... what did you mean by "Dryhead" bone? I used the dryhead reference because that specific bone piece reminds me of the dryhead agates from Montana.

Maybe the Smithsonian has or needs a display of such. Dang dino bones have taken over my life. Have loved them since a kid. I would enjoy showing them off for educational purposes and use live macro demonstration on them, not just still photos. Smithsonian now that would be killer. There is a guy on facebook, Mike Fleeman, that just got his paperwork all lined out to help fund a new state of the art museum in Phoenix Arizona. A big one not just some little roadside attraction museum. Some of you may of seen him on facebook. He is great guy and passionate. He will have a great dinosaur display between all of his friends that are collectors. I sold him all my museum quality petrified wood and he will be using it and actually does presentations with them. He literally has over 10,000 specimens including bones, artifacts, minerals you name it. here is Mike at a recent public presentation. I would say just about half of what is shown on that table came from me. All highly polished no flaws. here is his website. He has great video if you click on the video link. He agreed to give me job and I would live in the boiler room like Joe Dirt lgffoundation.com/
